      八年级英语下册Unit 5  What were you doing when the rainstorm came? Section A (3a-3c教案 教学目标:1.学生通过本课学习能掌握运用一定的阅读技巧既要通过skimming也要通过scanning来获取所需的信息2.语法方面, 能够理解过去进行时态在文章中的运用。教学重点:1. New words:report, beat, rise (v. & n.) storm, wind, light, area, wood, window, flashlight, matches, candle,apart, asleep, serious, fallen, broken against2.Important phrases:die down, fall asleep, break (sth.) apart, bring (sth.) closer together Important sentences Bendad was putting pieces of wood over the windows while his mom wasmaking sure the fiashlights and radio were working.Although the storm broken many things apart, it brought families and neighbors closer together.教学难点能够理解文中过去进行时的运用。Teaching steps教学步骤): 自主学习方案:(1)学生自学本课生词并能拼读和拼写。2)预习课文并找出重难点短语和句子。2.. Revision(复习)T: Yesterday, we learnt some important phrases, now  lets review them Please translate the these  phrases  into English.      时候                           at the time of      等公交                             wait for the bus      (闹钟)响                         go off      洗个热水澡                         take a hot shower      错过公交                           miss the bus      雨下得很大                         rain heavily      接电话                             pick up / answer the call       3.Lead-in(新课导入)T: In summer, there are always storms, And the storms always bring  some problems . Look at the pictures,What can  you see?S1: In the first picture, the wind is  strong and the rain is  heavy .T: So what is it?S1: It is a storm.T: Yes. What happened to the trees? S2: Some trees have fallen.  T: Yes. The storm destroyed the trees. And we can say The storm damaged the trees. or The trees are damaged. However, do you think the storm can be good for us?S3: I think the storm can (让学生自由发挥。4.New teaching:1Reading:(快速阅读)Although the storms can bring some problems,, sometimes the storms can be good for us.  Please read the passage fast to find out how a storm can be good for the people. .学生只要看文章标题,再快速看段落主旨句尤其是最后一段即可找到答案1分钟即可然后通过抽学生回答问题的方式核对答案 2Reading:(仔细阅读) 让学生带着文章前面的两个问题仔细阅读短文,在文章中找到答案。用3分钟完成。Then check the answersAsk:, who would like to have a try? What was the weather like before the heavy rain started?S1: The strong winds were blowing outside. T: Is this the correct answer?S2: Yes. But it is not complete. And black clouds were making the sky very dark.T: Yes. Very good! There are two points.  You have to pay more attention. But where did you find the answer?Ss: The 1st and 2nd sentences of the 1st paragraph.T: You are right! Please look at the screen. Have you got it?Ss: Yes!T: Good! Now No. 2. What was the neighborhood like after the storm? Who can answer it?S3: The neighborhood was in a mess and fallen trees, broken windows and rubbish were everywhere.T: Bingo! Thats right! There are also two points. Where did you find the answer?Ss: The last  paragraph. T: Yeah! Look at the screen please. Lets read the two sentences together.教学设计说明:(3) Reading 3rd,finish 3b.Have students look at  3b.and read the passage again and complete the sentences. Then check the answers by ask some students to do 3b in front of the class最后教师一边检测答案一边讲解文章知识点。4. Learning useful expressions and discussing.Have the sdudents read the text again,and find out the useful expressions教师总结: From the passage, we know that although the storm broght some problems,but  it made families and neighbors closer together. So we should help each other when we are in trouble.But how can we help each other when we are in trouble?Please discuss it.学生讨论之后,抽两三个学生回答,,最后给出参考答案。For example:(1) cheer people up by saying some kind words to encourage them when they are unhappy.(2)give some clothes, food, and other things to those people In  need.(3) Give some money to those poor people.(4)Help the classmates to study their poor subjects.5.Revision:复习本课重点短语:首先:at first入睡:fall asleep逐渐变弱:die down感觉喜欢:feel like做晚餐:make dinner乱七八糟:in a mess清扫:clean up割裂,破坏:break..... apart让学生思考然后给出自己的想法:例如:(1) Everyone should protect the environment.(2)We should help each other as possible as we could.6.课堂练习。7.. Homework Remember the useful phrases of the text.Retell the text as could as possible.
