Knowledge objectives:
(1) Through pictures and flash, students can learn and correctly say out the English names of ball games: do, have, tennis, ball, ping-pong, soccer, volleyball, basketball.
(2) Students can properly use the sentence patterns “Do you have...? Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.” to talk about the ownership.
Emotional objectives: Through learning the English names of ball games, students can establish their interest in sports and form the good habit to exercise.
Strategies objectives: Through listening tasks, students can further use the listening skill (key words: names) correctly. They can use the target language to talk about ownership with “have”.

Students correctly use the target language (6 words related to ball games) to talk about the ownership of the things by using the notional verb “have”.
Difficult point:
Students correctly use verbs in the form of the third person singular in general questions when talking about ownership. Does he/she have...?

Intention: To arouse Ss’ interests and lead in the topic (ball games) of this lesson.
Step 2: Pre listening
Task 1: Free talk
What other balls do you know?
Intention: To present the new words in this period by brain storming in the class (golf, rugby...), which is a good way to elicit the knowledge students know before.
Task 2: Work on 1a
Match the words with the things in the pictures.
Intention: To set the scene and test their knowledge. To have a review of the words.
Step 3: While listening
Task 3: work on 1b
1st listening: Listen and circle the words you hear.
(Listening tip: pay attention to the key words)
2nd listening: Listen and imitate after the tape.
(especially the intonation)
Task 4: work on 2a-2c
1st listening: Listen to the conversations and number the pictures.
2nd listening: Listen again. Match the pictures in 2a with the balls.
3rd listening: Ask and answer questions about the people in 2a.
Intention: To give Ss practice in listening for specific items in conversations. To know how to use the target language in real conversation.
