M: What do you think of your English lessons, Mary?

W: Well, I enjoy them. But they are not easy.

M: What do you find difficult?

W: Lots of things, especially writing. I often make mistakes in my homework.

M: Do you read much in English?

W: Not much, I prefer doing more English exercises.

M: Don’t just do exercises. I think you should read more. In that way you will find it is easier to learn English.

Taking care of our environment is very important. Have you ever thrown any rubbish onto the ground? Have you ever written words on public walls? Have you ever cut down trees? If your answers are “No”, it means that you have already helped protect our environment.

It is our duty to keep our environment clean and tidy. In our daily life, we must collect wasted paper for recycling. In spring, we can plant trees or flowers near our homes with family or friends. Although these things are simple, they mean that we have already done something useful to improve the environment.

听第二篇短文，回答16～20小题。

I’m Ted. Last summer, my brother and I decided to make some money for our holiday travel. We made a plan: We would buy some toys at the market and then sell them.

On the first evening, we came to a mall and sold the toys in front of it. We waited for our first customer excitedly. However, many people passed by, but few would have a look at our toys. My brother advised me to shout out to draw people’s attention. Though I felt a bit shy at first, I shouted with him at last. It worked. Soon, we got our first customer and sold a toy monkey. At the end of that day, we sold five toys in total. On the seventh night, a policeman noticed us and warned us to leave. So our business life ended. We sold 60 toys and got about 300 yuan. The money was far from enough for our travel, but we learned that making money was not easy.
