【教学过程】
Step 1 presentation
Show a picture T: Look at the picture who is this man? This is Jeremy Lin. Yes, he is a famous basketball player. He is a member of Houston Rocket. Do you like watching his matches? Teach “match”. Many people like this young man. He is their hero. Explain “hero”.
Step 2 presentation
Ask the students: Do you like sports? What’s your favorite sport? Who is your hero? Where can you watch his/her matches?
Step 3 Learn the text
1.Show a picture of David.Today we’ll meet David.He is a student at Sunshine. Middle School. Do you want to know more about him? Please read the article and answer some questions:
(1)What’s David’s favorite sport?
(2)Who does he often play with?
(3)When and where does he often play?
(4)Does he watch basketball matches? Who is his favorite player?
2.Listen the tape and read aloud.
Step 4 Activities
Work in pairs. Discuss some questions on the blackboard.
Step 5 Writing
We have read David’s article. Now introduce your favorite sport in the same way. Please write down your favorite sport.
Step 6 Report time
Divide the class into eight groups, read each other’s articles and choose the best one. Let the students read in the front of the classroom.
Step 7 Home work
(1)Read and recite the text.
(2)Write an article and introduce your parents’ sports.
