I was brn n June 27，1880，in Tuscumbia，a little twn f nrthern Alabama.
The family n my father's side is descended frm Caspar Keller，a native f Switzerland，wh settled in Maryland.One f my Swiss ancestrs was the first teacher f the deaf in Zurich and wrte a bk n the subject f their educatin—rather a singular cincidence；thugh it is true that there is n king wh has nt had a slave amng his ancestrs，and n slave wh has nt had a king amng his.
My grandfather，Caspar Keller's sn，“entered” large tracts f land in Alabama and finally settled there.I have been tld that nce a year he went frm Tuscumbia t Philadelphia n hrseback t purchase supplies fr the plantatin，and my aunt has in her pssessin many f the letters t his family，which give charming and vivid accunts f these trips.
我的生活
