I am Finn Ferreira, an Irish teenager. I am very delighted t have wn $50,000 fr my prject. My prject came abut as I was cnstantly hearing abut plastic pllutin n the news. And I als see the real effects n ur beaches every day. I discvered, t my shck, that at present n filtratin (过滤) fr micrplastics takes place in any Eurpean wastewater treatment centers, s I started lking fr a slutin.
Seeing that there was nne, I decided t investigate further, finally finding a way t use the feerfluid (铁磁流体), a liquid which sticks t the plastic allwing it t be remved using magnets(磁铁). After ver 1,000 tests I have prved that my methd wuld remve 87% r higher f micrplastics.

The fact that I lived in such a remte place meant that I had t build my wn equipment and lab t cnduct tests and experiments.
Inspired by scientists such as Ben Feringa and his wrk with rganic chemistry and nantechnlgy (纳米技术), I wuld like t study chemistry r chemical engineering when finishing my last year f secndary schl. Bth f these subjects will be suited t me as I really enjy prblem-slving and experiments.
