On Friday March 3, 18-year-ld Jrdan Stlz became the yungest persn ever t win a wrld speed skating gld medal.
Stlz is frm Kewaskum, Wiscnsin. He began skating n a small pnd in his family’s backyard. When he was five years ld, he saw speed skaters at the 2010 Winter Olympics n TV. He suddenly became very interested in learning t skate fast.
By the time he was in fifth grade, Stlz had wn natinal champinships. In high schl, he went t schl nline s that he culd train fr up t six hurs a day.
Last Nvember, Stlz earned tw gld medals during the 2022-23 ISU Speed Skating Wrld Cup, making him the yungest male t win a Wrld Cup race.
