Chimpanzees(黑猩猩) d have strnger muscles than us-but they are nt nearly as pwerful as many peple think.

This result matches well with the few tests that have been dne, which suggest that when it cmes t pulling and jumping, chimps are abut 1.5 times as strng as humans relative t their bdy mass. But because they are lighter than the average persn, humans can actually utperfrm them in abslute terms, says O’Neill.

The team went n t lk at the muscle f chimps that had died f natural causes, which shwed that tw-thirds f their muscle is made f fast-twitch fibers, whereas mre than half f human fibers are slw-twitch. Fast-twitch fibers are mre pwerful, but use mre energy and becme tired faster.
Anther factr, O’Neill fund, is that chimps have lnger fibers n average which als imprves their strength.
