I ran the idea by my family members - my fur adult children and their spuses (配偶) (with invitatins als t my eight grandchildren). They all gave it sme thught and said "G fr it!"
S, I asked each persn t create a square t express their views n and experiences f the pandemic. We did sme brainstrming tgether. I rdered the clth and quilting supplies we needed. And we fund a gd lcal shp that did a great jb printing phts and ther designs nt clth. Each family unit cntributed a few cmpleted squares fr a ttal f 20 squares. The quilt cvers three generatins: the yungest family member is 17 this year, and I'm the ldest at 83. It tk us almst fur mnths frm the time I imagined it t the day I finished sewing (缝) it up.
Once the pandemic has ended, I will sew the end date and any ther key infrmatin nt the inside f the quilt. The Amazn rainfrest is as pristine (处于原始状态的) a place as mst peple can imagine, but even there, the effects f a changing climate are playing ut. Previus research fund that sme birds in the Amazn are experiencing drps that may be related t climate change. Nw, new research suggests that as the Amazn's dry seasn has gtten htter, sme species are starting t evlve (进化).
Fr the new study, researchers studied 77 nn-migratry species ver a 40-year perid. They reprted in the jurnal Science Advances that 36 species have lst weight, as much as 2 percent f their bdy weight every ten years since 1980. Meanwhile, all the species became smaller in bdy size, while a third grew lnger wings.
The researchers themselves are unsure what advantage the wing length changes give the birds, but smaller birds may have an easier time keeping cl. In general, smaller animals have a larger rati (比例) f surface area t bdy size, s they dissipate mre heat faster than a bigger animal. Less available fd, such as fruit r insects, in dryer weather might lead t smaller bdy size.
"Think abut a fighter plane. It has shrt wings and is heavy. D. T intrduce the difficulty birds can meet when flying.

    B. It is making a quick recvery.
