教学过程:
Leading-in
T: There will be an English test this Friday mrning. Can yu tell me hw yu study fr a test?
Then shw sme pictures n PPT and help the students talk abut them and learn t say “by + ding” phrases such as by wrking with friends, by making wrd cards, by reading the text bk, by listening t tapes, by asking the teacher fr help.etc.

Ask the students t cmplete la (add ther ways they smetimes study), individually first. then check their answers in grups.

Play the recrding fr the students t listen t and cmplete lb. Play it again if necessary, then check the answers tgether.

The teacher asks tw students t read the cnversatin in lc t the class. Then ask them t d the pair wrk t make ther cnversatins. After that sme pairs shuld be asked t present their cnversatins t the class

1. Ask the students t read the questins in 2a. Make sure they can understand the meaning f each questin. Then the students listen and check the questins they hear. Play the recrding 2 r 3 times if necessary, then check the answers
2. The students read the sentences in 2b individually. Then listen and match each answer with a questin in 2a. They shuld be given enugh time t cmplete it

四、Language Pints
“by+动词-ing形式”表方式、方法
“by+动词-ing形式”在句子中作状语,表示方式方法等,by在此结构中有“通过,借助,用(某种方式或方法)”等含义。此外,“by+动词-ing形式”常用来回答hw引导的特殊疑问句。
例:Mr.Green makes a living by teaching.格林先生以教书为生。

(1)“by+表示交通工具的名词(名词前不加冠词)”意为“乘/驾驶/坐……”

(2)“by+时间"意为“不迟于;在……之前”。

3. Ask the students t interview their partners t cmplete the table in 4c. Then ask sme pairs t present their cnversatins t the class.
