    T investigate this, researchers frm the universities f Fudan University in China and Cambridge in the UK lked at data frm the Adlescent Brain and Cgnitive Develpment chrt (一群人) in the US, which recruited (招募) mre than 10, 000 yung adlescents.
    The team analyzed a wide range f data including frm clinical interviews, cgnitive tests, mental and behaviral assessments and brain scans, cmparing yung peple wh began reading fr pleasure at a relatively early age against thse wh began ding s later r nt at all. The analyses cntrlled fr many imprtant factrs, including sci-ecnmic status.
    Of the 10, 243 participants studied, just under a half (48%) had little experience f reading fr pleasure r did nt begin ding s until later in their childhd. The remaining half had spent between three and ten years reading fr pleasure.
    When the researchers lked at brain scans frm the adlescent chrt, they fund that thse participants wh had taken t reading fr pleasure at an early age shwed mderately (有合理限度地) larger ttal brain areas and vlumes, including in particular brain regins that play critical rles in cgnitive functins.
