N animals have experienced a greater appearance change in the past few decades than the nnavian (非鸟类的) dinsaurs. We used t think they had nthing but bring gray and brwn scales (鳞) but they are nw believed t have had feathers (羽毛) in bright clrs and patterns. S what clrs were the dinsaurs? And hw d we knw?
One scientist we have t thank fr the answers t bth questins is Jakb Vinther. Ever since the first fssilized (成为化石的) dinsaur feathers were reprted in 1996, scientists had nticed rund tiny structures within them — structures that many had assumed were fssilized bacteria.
But as a dctral student studying a cmpletely different animal. Vinther realized that these structures might be smething mre. “I was lking at fssilized ink (墨汁) in a squid-like (像枪乌贼的) animal. It was remarkably well preserved,” Vinther said. “Yu can take ink frm a squid yu bught dwn at the fish market, put it under a micrscpe, and see perfect little rund balls. And then when yu take fssilized ink, it lks exactly the same.” Thse balls are melansmes (黑素体) that clr hair, skin, feathers and eyes f animals. These rund structures turned ut t be the same nes being mistaken fr bacteria in dinsaur feathers.
Scientists had largely believed that melansmes culdn’t survive the fssilizatin prcess, but discveries have shwn nt nly that they survive but that they can tell us the actual clrs f extinct animals. That’s because they cme nt nly in"perfect little rund balls" but als in many different shapes, each f which prduces a different clr.
“If yu lk at a persn with black hair r a bird with black feathers, thse melansmes are sausage — shaped,” Vinther said. “If yu have range-brwn hair, they’re shaped like little meatballs. S basically, yu just lk fr sausages and meatballs, and then yu can actually put clrs n extinct animals.” Once yu knw the shape f the melansmes in a fssil, yu can learn all srts f things abut the animal.

A.Peple’s prfessinal abilities are clsely related t their linguistic ability.
B.Peple wh cannt speak a freign language are less likely t succeed.
C.Peple’s mther tngues are easier t learn than a freign language.
D.Peple wh have different mther tngues always lack trust in each ther.
10.What des the authr advise internatinal teams t d?
A.Offer different language curses.
B.Change the culture in their teams.
C.Be pen-minded abut cultural diversity.
D.Prmte individuals speaking different languages.
11.What des the underlined wrd “eliminate” in the last paragraph mean?
