    Period 4 (Section B 2a-2e)设计说明利用图片或实物创设情境教授新单词,寓教于乐,激发学生的学习兴趣。现实中有各种各样的聚会,小组讨论了解聚会,对有关聚会的知识进行预测,为下面的文章阅读做好铺垫。通过学习2b中的文章训练学生解决问题的能力,使学生能够做到有针对性地进行阅读并快速找出信息;让学生带着2c中的问题,再次认真深入阅读课文内容,通过回答问题这个环节,让学生对课文内容有一个更具体的认识,从而更好地把握事实与细节,训练学生的精读能力。活动2d是语篇阅读内容的迁移和延伸,需要学生运用阅读语篇中的词汇完成一个聚会的邀请函。最后学生要学以致用,回答2e中的问题,对本课时做一个总结。教学目标1. 知识目标:(1)掌握新单词:invitation,reply,forward,delete,print,sad,goodbye,glad,preparation,glue,without,surprised,housewarming。(2)掌握短语:turn down,take a trip,help out,look forward to,hear from。(3)掌握句型:“I can help to buy some of the food and drinks.”“Thanks so much for planning this.”“Bring Ms. Steen to the party without telling her so that she can be surprised.”“I look forward to hearing from you all.”。2. 能力目标:(1)能综合运用can来表达邀请。(2)学会用书面形式向他人发出邀请,接受邀请或拒绝邀请。3. 情感目标:(1)学习人际交往的基本常识,学会有礼貌地邀请别人以及回答别人的邀请。(2)学会合理安排活动、聚会。加强与同学的交往。重点难点1. 重点:(1)掌握本课时的新单词、短语和句子。(2)能读懂邀请函,自主表达接受或拒绝邀请,并能掌握必要的信息。2. 难点:能读懂邀请函,自主表达接受或拒绝邀请,并能掌握必要的信息。教学准备多媒体课件、录音机、磁带、请柬实物或图片。教学过程Step 1 Warming up & Leading in1. I think she will be sad. Write glad,invitation and sad on the blackboard,and then students read after the teacher. Step 3 Practice the new words1. Students read the new words individually. 2. Choose the proper words from the box and complete the sentences. (1)We were very surprised when we found Mary could play the guitar. (2)I’m helping my teacher with the class party preparations. Can you help us? (3)She looks sad because she can’t take a trip with her classmates. (4)He left this morning without saying goodbye to anyone. (5)If you want to go with us, please reply by 10:00 a. m.tomorrow. (6)Can you print the English papers for us? We need them now. (7)Thank you for your invitation. I’d like to come. (8)They will be very glad to meet their old friends. Step 4 Work on 2aLet student think out as many kinds of parties as possible according to their experiences,such as birthday party,New Year’s party,wedding party,housewarming party,etc. 1. Students discuss the parties they know. 2. Make a list of the kinds of parties people have. And write them down in 2a. Step 5 Reading1. Work on 2b. (1)T:Did you have a surprise party for your friend? When was it? Why did you have a party for him/her? (2)Have students read the messages quickly and find out the answer to this question:Why did people write them? (3)Read the reasons. (4)Read the messages again. Match the reason with each message. Answers:Top message:1 Middle message:3 Bottom message:22. Work on 2c. (1)Read the questions in 2c. (2)Have students read the messages more carefully and answer the questions. (3)Check the answers with the class. Answers:1. It is a surprise party. 2. It is for Ms. Steen. 3. It is on Friday the 28th. 4. David invited his classmates to the party. 5. They can eat,drink and play games at the party. (4)Ask students to read the invitation carefully again,and guide them to pay attention to the structure of making an invitation. Notes:①accept意为“接受”,其反义词(组)是refuse或turn down。例如:Can you accept our invitation? 你能接受我们的邀请吗? ②answer与replya. answer主要用于对问题等的回答,后面可直接跟宾语;reply多用于对问题作出解释、辩论或陈述性回答,跟宾语时须与to 连用。例如:Who can answer this question? 谁能回答这个问题? Mike replied to his mother. 迈克答复了他的母亲。b. 二者作动词时,answer 可表示对电话、敲门等作出“应答”,而reply则不能。例如:Can you answer the telephone,please? 请你去接一下电话,好吗? ③without意为“没有”,与with互为反义词,其后可跟名词、代词或动名词。例如:He left without saying a word. 他什么也没说就离开了。④look forward to意为“期盼;盼望”,其中to为介词,后跟名词、代词或动名词作宾语。例如:We look forward to having a New Year’s party. 我们渴望举行一次新年聚会。⑤surprise,surprised与surprisinga. surprise既可用作动词,也可用作名词。作动词时,意为“使(某人)惊讶或吃惊”;作名词时,意为“惊奇,吃惊”。例如:The bad news didn’t surprise them. 这个坏消息没使他们吃惊。in surprise(惊奇地)和to one’s surprise(使某人感到吃惊的是)都是含有名词surprise的短语。b. surprised和surprising都是形容词,但其用法区别在于:surprised意为“吃惊的;感到意外的”,形容人因为某事而感到惊讶;surprising意为“令人惊奇的”,形容某物或某事让人惊讶。例如:I was surprised at his answer. 我对他的回答感到吃惊。Your success is surprising. 你的成功令人吃惊。I was very surprised when I heard the surprising news. 当我听到那个令人吃惊的消息时,我很惊讶。⑥hear from sb. 相当于get a letter from sb. ,意为“收到某人的来信”。例如:He hears from his son every month. 他每个月都收到儿子的来信。(4)Translate the following phrases. ①make an invitation 发出邀请②accept an invitation 接受邀请③turn down an invitation 拒绝邀请④the best way to do sth. 做某事最好的方法⑤take a trip 去旅行⑥help out(帮助……)分担工作、解决难题⑦look forward to 盼望;期待⑧at the end of 在……的末尾3. Work on 2d. (1)T:Now let’s work on 2d. Nowadays,it’s very popular to have a housewarming party when someone moves into his/her new house. The passage below is an invitation of a housewarming party. Read the invitation and complete the blanks with words and phrases from the messages on page 69. 方法指导:首先,通读全文可知,该短文是关于邀请朋友来参加聚会的文章。通读本段文字,掌握大意。重点把握有空格句子的意思,分析空格处的意思。然后,根据记忆用2b短文中的词汇来填空,补全这篇短文。最后,再阅读一遍短文,检查所填内容的正确性。(2)Let some students write their answers on the blackboard. (3)Check the answers with students. Answers:party,come,food,drinks,bring,fun,know,ifNote:Hope you can make it! 此句中的make it是一个独立的表述方式,表示通过努力或经历困难后取得成功、完成某事,可译作“成功;胜利”,但有时也要视语境及上下文灵活选用恰当的词语进行翻译,此处便是如此。例如:If we run,we should make it. 我们要是跑的话,应该不会迟到。Though it was difficult,they still made it. 虽然艰难,但他们依然成功了。Step 6 Pair workWork on 2e. 1. T:Imagine one of your favorite teachers is leaving. Plan a party for him/her. First,make students try to plan the party without looking at the questions in the textbook. 2. In groups,get students to consider who the party is for and then list things they need to do to make sure the party is successful. 3. Compare students’ questions with the questions in 2e. 4. Try to make an invitation according to the questions in 2e. Step 7 SummaryIn this period,we have learned:1.
