    (2) Effectively imprve reading speed and accuracy in understanding materials.
    (3) Be able t flexibly apply the knwledge learned t express the key tpic f table manners in this lessn.

    Train students in reading ability, apply learning techniques such as Learning strategies: cmparing and reading fr key wrds, and practice their ability t read extensively and extensively.

    Understand table manners and fd culture knwledge frm varius cuntries, experience the jy f daily life fr Westerners, and guide students t learn t respect and adapt t the culture f ther cuntries. Summarize and elevate the theme f this lessn thrugh "D as Rme des.".

    1. Task based teaching methd: Based n the new curriculum cncept and the teaching cntent f this lessn, carry ut task-based teaching activities. Set multiple questins related t the text, use skimming and detailed reading t attract and rganize them t actively participate in classrm activities, learn and apply English t cmplete learning tasks.
    2. Situatinal teaching methd: English teaching cannt be separated frm setting reasnable and effective teaching scenaris. Thrugh methds such as questining, inspiratin, and inductin, cmbined with varius channels such as pictures and nline resurces, real r simulated scenaris are set up t stimulate students t think, try new knwledge, inspire thinking, cultivate abilities, and ultimately imprve their ability t apply English t slve practical prblems

    Multimedia equipment fr textbk and curseware.
    Teaching Prcedures:
    Step1:Lead-in
    Intrduce the French cuisine t students by using pictures and watching a vide.
    Ask a questin abut the big challenges in France t lead t the tpic “ table manners”.
    Watch a vide abut table manners.
    (Stimulate their interest and present the tpic.)
    Step2: While reading
    Predictin
    Present the backgrund infrmatin abut the exchange student.
    Let students predict what is the passage abut by seeing the pictures and title f the passage.
    Fast reading:
    Give students 1 minute t read the whle passage t find the main idea.
    Give students 3 minutes t read the whle passage t grasp the main idea f the passage and find the tpic sentences.(Help them grasp the main idea.) and then give them 2minutes t find the key pint f the passage by using the reading methd(key wrds).
    Scanning: (practice the skill f finding the details)
    Read the para.1 and finish a questin and fill a mind map
    Read the para.2 t find the biggest challenge and fill in a chart abut the ds and dns in the passage by using the methd, circling the key wrds.
    Shw the pictures abut the table manners t test and review the cntents.
    Step 3:Pst reading
    Review the passage and make ntes abut French custms in the chart.
    (This activity prvides writing practice using the target language.)
    Cmpare the table manners in France and China in the grup by using the prviding expressins.( T practice students’ thinking and spken English.)
    D a reprt t summary the similarity and differences between China and France.(T make a utput)
    Read the instructins and ask students t finish the exercise.
    Get students t finish the activity n their wn. As students wrk, mve arund the rm ffering help as needed. Ask a student t read his r her message t the class. Have ther students add any infrmatin that is missing frm the first student's reprt.
    Step 4: Hmewrk
    Yur pen pal is cming t China n an exchange prgram.He/She is asking yu abut Chinese custms and what he/she is suppsed t d r nt. Make ntes in the chart.
