The research included 94 students at five central Illinis high schls. Students were randmly assigned (随机分配) t ne f three kinds f classrms — windwless, with a windw lking ut nt built-up space, r with a windw lking ut nt green space. Each kind f classrm had a similar size and layut. The students tk part in ne-n-ne experiments in which they did 30 minutes f activities that included a prfreading exercise, a speech and a math exercise. Fllwing the activities, the students were given an attentin test which asked them t repeat a series f (一连串) numbers.
The findings: Students did better n bth study activities and the attentin test if they were in a classrm with a green view, Sullivan said.

TANAKA KANE became the third persn ever t turn 118, accrding t the Gerntlgy Research Grup, a team f academics. She is als the first citizen f Japan t reach 118—but is unlikely t be the last. The cuntry has the wrld's lngest life expectancy, and 80,000 peple aged at 100 years ld r lder.
The unusual lngevity enjyed in Japan is credited t diet. Japan largely banned meat fr l,200 years, and still cnsumes relatively little meat and dairy. T much f these can be damaging, since they cntain saturated fatty acids(饱和脂肪酸),which crrelate t heart disease. Studies have als tied eating lts f prcessed red meat t a greater risk f strke. But t little may be unwise as well, because they prvide chemical substance that may be needed fr ur bld-tube walls. In a study f 48,000 Britns, vegetarians were unusually resistant t heart disease, but likely t suffer frm strkes.
In thery, a lack f animal-based fd culd have cntributed t Japan's histrical cerebrvascular(脑血管)death rate. In 1960-2013, as the cuntry's deaths frm strkes reduced, its annual meat intake rse frm near zer t 52kg per persn (45% f America's level). Tsugane Shichir f the Natinal Cancer Centre in Tky says that his citizens may need meat and dairy t keep their bld tubes strng―thugh nt s much that thse tubes get blcked.
Sme evidence supprts this view. One paper frm the 1990s fund that the parts f Japan where diets had changed mst als had the biggest drps in cerebrvascular death rate. Anther study, which tracked 80,000 Japanese peple in 1995-2009, shwed that strkes were mst cmmn amng thse wh ate the least chps and cream. Althugh Japan's decline in cerebrvascular deaths culd stem frm ther causes, these data suggest that nutritinal shifts may have helped.
The unhappy irny is that Japan's health gains, paired with a lw birth rate, threaten its ecnmy. By 2060, 40% f Japanese culd be 60 r lder. That wuld prduce mre birthday cakes with 118 candles—and fewer great-grandchildren t blw them ut.
28. What is the purpse f the first paragraph?
A. T prvide evidence. B. T intrduce the tpic.
C. T prmte an idea. D. T make cmparisn.
29. What message is cnveyed in paragraph 2?
A. A light heart lives lng.
B. Diet cures mre than dctrs.
C. Happiness lies first f all in health.
D. All wrk and n play makes Jack a dull by.
30. What d the studies in paragraph 4 shw?
A. It is vital t have meat and dairy.
B. It is cmmn t suffer frm strkes.
C. It is beneficial t change diet habit.
D. It is imprtant t eat least cream.
31. What can be learned frm the last paragraph?
A. The less meat and dairy, the better.
B. Mre cakes and candles are needed.
C. Medical demand fr heart disease is met.
D. Lngevity and lw birth rate affect ecnmy.
