pick up 接电话。它相当于answer the phne/ telephne。它是由“动词+副词”构成的短语,可接名词或代词作宾语,代词作其宾语时,要用其宾格形式且必须放在pick与up中间。

过去进行时的基本用法

主语 + was/were + v-ing+其他.

He was nt wrking at that time.
—Were yu playing basketball then? —Yes, I was. / N, I wasn't.
Was/Were + 主语 + v-ing + 其他?
特殊疑问词 + was/were + 主语 + v-ing + 其他?

肯定回答:Yes, 主语+was/were.
否定回答:N, 主语+wasn't/weren't.

◆ 表示主句动作发生的特定时间,既可指时间点,也可指时间段。
◆ 从句的谓语动词可以是延续性动词,也可以是非延续性动词;从句的动作和主句的动作既可同时发生,也可以是先后发生。

如:wrk, study, drink, eat等。
◆ 延续性动词指动作可以延续一段时间,而不是瞬间结束。
◆ 非延续性动词指动作极为短暂,瞬间结束。
如: start, begin, hit, jump, knck等。

◆ while引导的时间状语从句强调主句动作在从句动作进行的过程中发生,从句的谓语动词必须为延续性动词,常用进行时。
