When Emma Yang was 8, her grandmther became increasingly frgetful. Over the next few years, thse memry prblems caused by early Alzheimer’s disease (阿尔茨海默病) wrsened. Yang, wh learned t cde at an early age, decided t create an app t help.

Katherine Pssin, an assciate prfessr at the UCSF Memry and Aging Center, agrees, “It can be hard fr smebdy wh has a lt f memry prblems t learn a new technlgy.” Pssin says. “But if smebdy is in the early stages f the disease, and if the app is simple enugh, it’s pssible that they can learn t use it thrugh repetitin and practice.”

Part f what the investigatrs measured was the teens’ amunt f screen time, including time spent n scial media, as well as their levels f depressin symptms. One f their main findings was that higher amunts f scial media use were assciated with higher levels f depressin.
