Have yu ever lst smething in a hard-t-reach space, like behind a cuch r a cupbard? Wuldn’t it be nice t just be able t squeeze in and ut? New innvatins in the field f rbtics will sn be able t make this nice idea int a reality.
In a study published n Jan 25 in the science jurnal Matter, engineers frm The Chinese University f Hng Kng and Carnegie Melln University in the US have develped small rbts that can quickly change back and frth frm liquid t slid states.
Accrding t the website Mashable the scientists were inspired by sea cucumbers (海参). They are able t change the stiffness (僵硬度) f their bdy r reduce the ptential fr physical damage. The rbts in the study were made frm gallium (镓), a sft metal with a lw melting pint f 30 ℃. The scientists then used changes in the magnetic field t manipulate the magnetic particles (粒子) inside the gallium material t prvide heat. This heat then allwed the rbts t change between slid and liquid states as well as t mve arund.
As the website Tech Xplre pinted ut, ther similar materials require external heat surces such as heat guns and electrical currents t induce (触发) a change f states; but nw, the rbts can use a heat surce inside itself t change states independently.
During the rbts’ experimental trials, the scientists cnducted a number f tests. These tests included having the rbts melt int liquid and re-frm t escape a prisn like cage. It can remve a freign bject frm and deliver medicinal drugs t a mdel stmach. The rbt is als able t build and repair hard-t-reach circuits. The rbt’s ability t switch between states f matter allws fr a number f pssible uses and advancements in different fields, such as the bimedical and circuit assembly industries.
Still, in the wrds f senir authr Carmel Majidi at Carnegie Melln University, fr nw these are all just “prfs f cncept” which shw the abilities f these new kinds f rbts.

A. By cntrlling the magnetic particles.
B. By emplying a heat surce.
C. By using electrical currents.
D. By using heat guns.
34. What can be inferred abut the rbts frm Majidi’s wrds?
A. They have great market ptential.
B. It will take mre time fr them t be widely used.
C. Mre prf is needed fr their abilities.
D. Their abilities are verstated.
35. What is a suitable title fr the passage?
A. New innvatins f rbtics

根据空前的“A series f phts shwing frmer US president Dnald Trump being aggressively arrested by plice have caught peple’s attentin.(近日, 美国前总统唐纳德·特朗普被警方强行逮捕的一系列照片引起了人们的关注。)” 故选A项。
根据空前的“Created by the AI prgram Mid-jurney, the phts were highly realistic, frm the characters’ mvements t the surrundings.(这些照片由人工智能程序Mid-jurney制作,从人物的动作到周围环境,都非常逼真。)” 可知,科技专栏作家希拉·奥维德分享了她的建议,由此可推断,此空处应起到承上启下的作用,E选项“Hwever, many details can give away the fact that they are made by AI.(然而,许多细节可以泄露它们是由人工智能制作的事实。)”
所以此处应为本段的主题句,根据空后的“It smetimes can create hands with mre than five fingers. This is because AI isn’t sure what a “hand” exactly is, accrding t Ppular Science. The data AI uses t learn ften shw hands and fingers in varius gestures, which can be very cnfusing fr AI.
可知,后文所举例子需要与“违背客观现实”这一点相对应,G选项“Fr example, peple in an image may be missing earrings r ne part f their sunglasses.(例如,照片中的人可能会丢失耳环或太阳镜的一部分。)”
根据本段主题句“The develpment f AI-generated art als raises alarm bells abut hw these fake images culd be used t spread misinfrmatin.(人工智能生成艺术的发展也为这些虚假图像如何被用来传播错误信息敲响了警钟。)”可知,AI画作可能会被用来传播虚假信息,这给人类敲响了警钟,应当引起人们的重视,结合空前的“Generating an AI art wrk is t “create reality”, Chen argued, adding that being able t tell whether the wrk is real r nt requires high media literacy skills.(科恩认为,制作一件人工智能艺术作品就是“创造现实”,并补充说,能够判断作品是否真实需要很高的媒体素养。)”可知,要想判断作品是否真实需要很高的媒体素养,D选项“The wrld may nt be ready fr hw realistic the images have becme.(世界可能还没有准备好接受这些图像变得如此逼真。)”
