I’ve been t a few music festivals like Glastnbury, the UK’s biggest and mst famus music festival. But I’d never been t ne in China.
At the end f August, I went t the Xiami Music and Arts Festival in Aranya, Qinhuangda. Althugh the main draw f the festival fr me was Suede, a classic UK band, I still had a lt f fun enjying the festival’s ther aspects.
Apart frm the festival’s huge stages and screens, excellent sund systems and peple dancing and singing with their friends and family, there were ther surprises t. This was the first festival I’d been t lcated n a sandy beach!
Watching live music by the cean was incredibly relaxing. Everyne had blw-up chairs yu culd buy and sit n cmfrtably t enjy the music. Sme peple even had cuches! Often at music festivals, yu’re left standing the whle time, but Aranya was a bit mre peaceful. There were als mre children and families in attendance than I’ve seen at UK festivals, and this was great t see.
As the day went n, my anticipatin (期待) grew as I lked frward t seeing my familiar band, Suede, wh were the headliners: While Suede put n a gd shw, the mst enjyable surprise came frm my unexpected discvery f and subsequent (随后的) fndness fr the Chinese band The Life Jurney. Unlike the seasned Suede, these yung perfrmers were clearly in their prime. They became famus after appearing n iQiyi’s The Big Band (《乐队的夏天》). In a study published n Jan 25 in the science jurnal Matter, engineers frm The Chinese University f Hng Kng and Carnegie Melln University in the US have develped small rbts that can quickly change back and frth frm liquid t slid states.
Accrding t the website Mashable the scientists were inspired by sea cucumbers (海参). They are able t change the stiffness (僵硬度) f their bdy r reduce the ptential fr physical damage. The rbts in the study were made frm gallium (镓), a sft metal with a lw melting pint f 30 ℃. The scientists then used changes in the magnetic field t manipulate the magnetic particles (粒子) inside the gallium material t prvide heat. This heat then allwed the rbts t change between slid and liquid states as well as t mve arund.
As the website Tech Xplre pinted ut, ther similar materials require external heat surces such as heat guns and electrical currents t induce (触发) a change f states; but nw, the rbts can use a heat surce inside itself t change states independently.
During the rbts’ experimental trials, the scientists cnducted a number f tests. These tests included having the rbts melt int liquid and re-frm t escape a prisn like cage. I’ve been t a few music festivals like Glastnbury, the UK’s biggest and mst famus music festival. But I’d never been t ne in China.
At the end f August, I went t the Xiami Music and Arts Festival in Aranya, Qinhuangda. Althugh the main draw f the festival fr me was Suede, a classic UK band, I still had a lt f fun enjying the festival’s ther aspects.
Apart frm the festival’s huge stages and screens, excellent sund systems and peple dancing and singing with their friends and family, there were ther surprises t. This was the first festival I’d been t lcated n a sandy beach!
Watching live music by the cean was incredibly relaxing. Everyne had blw-up chairs yu culd buy and sit n cmfrtably t enjy the music. Sme peple even had cuches!
