Frm the sixth grade until I graduated frm high schl, I attended a schl that required students t wear unifrms. The unifrm was very simple: dark brwn shes, green-brwn pants, and a white shirt. The unifrm left little rm fr any kind f self-expressin, especially thrugh clthes.

Schl fficials kept the man lcked inside ur gym until the plice came t take him back t prisn.

When the individual wearing the device thinks f a wrd r a phrase but des nt speak it, AlterEg picks up the neurmuscular (神经肌肉) signals in that persn’s jaw and face. AlterEg sends thse signals t a cmputer, which is prgrammed t assciate them with specific wrds.
The device is fairly accurate. In a 10-persn trial, AlterEg had a 92percent transcriptin (转录) accuracy. Researchers say that number will increase ver time. “Our idea was: Culd we have a cmputing platfrm that’s mre internal, that cmbines human and machine in sme ways and that feels like an internal extensin f ur wn thughts? “Arnay Kapur, a graduate student at the MIT Media Lab said.
S what effect culd this have n cmmunicatin? If a persn is having a cnversatin and wants t lk up a bit f infrmatin, they dn’t have t take ut their digital device; instead they can just think f the questin. AlterEg will answer withut interrupting the cnversatin. The device can als help peple cmmunicate in nisy situatins, such as n a factry flr in the airprt.
