【句式拓展】(1)“疑问词+不定式”在句子中主要用作宾语,有时也可用作主语或表语等。When t start has nt been decided.(作主语)何时动身尚未决定。The questin is hw t carry ut the plan.(作表语)问题是怎样执行这个计划。
(2)不能用“why t d”结构【误】He explained t me why t be late.【正】He explained t me why he was late.他向我解释了他为什么迟到。注意:可以说Why d sth?或Why nt d sth?Why nt g climbing Munt Tai at the weekend?周末去爬泰山好吗?Why get upset just because yu gt a bad mark?何必因为没有考好就想不开呢?
(3)动词knw、shw、discver、see、explain、find ut 等之后通常不宜直接跟不定式,但可跟“疑问词+不定式”。【误】I dn’t knw t use this camera.【正】I dn’t knw hw t use this camera.我不知道这台相机怎么用。
复习动词不定式不定式由“t+动词原形”构成,其否定形式是“nt t+动词原形”。不定式可以加宾语或状语构成不定式短语,它没有人称和数的变化,但有时态和语态的变化。动词不定式的用法如下:1.作主语(1)动词不定式作主语时,一般表示具体某一次的动作。若不定式太长,常用it作形式主语而将不定式后置。T see is t believe.眼见为实。It is generally cnsidered unwise t give a child whatever he r she wants.孩子要什么就给什么,被普遍认为是不明智的。
(2)在“It is/was+adj.+fr/f sb t d sth”结构中,若形容词侧重于评价人物的特性、特征,则构成不定式复合结构的介词应用f,此时形容词常为kind、nice、flish等词,且sb与形容词之间可构成逻辑上的系表关系;若形容词侧重于描写不定式动作的特征、特点,则构成不定式复合结构的介词应用fr。It is generus f him t cntribute s much.他捐献了这么多真是太慷慨了。It was imprtant fr us t live a lw-carbn life.过一种低碳生活对我们来说很重要。
2.作表语(1)表示预定要发生的动作。Our schl sprts meeting is t take place n Friday.我们学校运动会将在周五召开。They are t meet at the entrance t the cinema.他们要在电影院入口处集合。(2)当主语是aim、purpse、idea、plan、wish、decisin、chice等词时,常用不定式作表语。His wish is t be an astrnaut in the future.他的愿望是将来当一名宇航员。Her dream is t becme an English teacher.她的梦想是当一名英语老师。
(3)主语为what引导的名词性从句时,表语多用不定式。What I want t d mst in senir high is t imprve my English.我在高中最想做的事就是提高我的英语水平。What surprised me mst was t see ur village’s great changes.我最惊奇的是看到我们村的巨大变化。
3.作宾语(1)只接不定式作宾语的动词:agree、intend、plan、demand、prmise、prepare、decide、refuse、chse、wish、hpe、expect、fail (未能)、pretend、manage、determine、beg、arrange、threaten、claim、hesitate、wait、happen (碰巧)等。She seated herself at a small table in the restaurant,waiting t be served.她坐在餐馆里的一张小桌子旁等着被服务。The Brwns decided t g n a hliday this summer.布朗一家人打算今年夏天去度假。
(2)在某些动词如find、think、cnsider、feel、make、believe后,常用it作形式宾语,然后加宾语补足语,最后加不定式作真正的宾语。We think it ur duty t prtect the envirnment.我们认为保护环境是我们的责任。I find it difficult t wrk ut the prblem.我发现算出这道题很难。
4.作宾语补足语(1)不定式作宾语补足语时,宾语和不定式之间在逻辑上是主谓关系,不定式表示将要发出的主动动作。常接不定式作宾语补足语的动词(短语):advise、allw、ask、beg、cause、encurage、expect、frbid、frce、intend、invite、rder、persuade、prefer、require、remind、tell、want、warn、wish、call n、depend n等。Tell yur child clearly and firmly that yu expect them t d their hmewrk respnsibly.清楚并坚定地告诉你的孩子你希望他们认真做功课。Having finished her prject,Prfessr Smith was invited by the schl t speak t the new students.完成项目之后,史密斯教授被学校邀请去给新生讲话。
(2)有些动词,如think、cnsider、believe、suppse、feel、find、understand等后常用t be作宾语补足语或主语补足语。Chinese peple are cnsidered t be the mst hard-wrking peple in the wrld.中国人被认为是世界上最勤劳的人民。Yu are suppsed t be challenged t read mre literature and ther materials.你应该尝试着去阅读更多的文学作品和其他阅读材料。
(3)在sb be said/believed/knwn/reprted/cnsidered/thught+t d/t have dne结构中,不定式用作主语补足语。He is thught t have acted flishly.Nw he has n ne but himself t blame fr lsing the jb.大家都认为他表现得很愚蠢。现在要为他的失业负责的不是别人,而是他自己。
5.作定语(1)不定式作定语通常放在所修饰词之后,表示将来的动作。不定式与其所修饰的词之间往往是动宾关系,若该不定式是不及物动词,其后应有必要的介词。Suddenly a gd idea ccurred t her,but she culdn’t find any paper t write n.突然她想到了一个好主意,但是她找不到纸把它写下来。
(2)序数词、形容词最高级、the last、the nly 等后或被这些词修饰的名词/代词后,常用不定式作定语。Our mnitr is always the first t arrive at the schl and the last t leave the schl.我们班长总是第一个到校,最后一个离校。(3)被修饰词是抽象名词时,常用不定式作定语。常见的此类名词有ability、chance、idea、hpe、wish、fact、excuse、prmise、attempt、way等。And the best way t strengthen willpwer is t make it int a habit.增强意志力最好的方法就是让它成为一种习惯。The ability t express an idea is as imprtant as the idea itself.表达观点的能力与观点本身同等重要。
6.作状语(1)作目的状语,可用s as t/ in rder t替换,但 s as t一般不可置于句首,意为“为了;想要”。T make it easier t get in tuch with us,yu’d better keep this card at hand.为了便于联系我们,你最好将这张卡片放在身边。T prtect the balance f nature,we shuld pay attentin t imprving peple’s envirnmental awareness.为了保护自然的平衡,我们应该注意提高人们的环境意识。
(2)作结果状语,常表示出乎意料的结果,常用于下列结构中:nly t d、enugh t d(足够做……)、 d...(太……而不能……)、 t...(如此……以至于……)等。Tm tk a taxi t the airprt,nly t find his plane high up in the sky.汤姆乘出租车去了机场,结果发现他要乘坐的飞机已飞入高空。Everyne shuld keep n getting himself educated s as t be up t date with mdern technlgy.每个人都应该不断地让自己接受教育,以便跟上现代技术。
(3)作原因状语,常用在“主语+系动词+形容词+t d”结构中。这类形容词有:easy、difficult、hard、cheap、expensive、fit、cmfrtable、heavy、gd、imprtant、impssible、dangerus、surprised、astnished、delighted、disappinted 等。We were astnished t find the temple still in its riginal cnditin.令我们吃惊的是,这座寺庙仍保持着最初的样子。I’m pleased t tell yu I’m getting alng well with all my teachers and classmates.我很高兴地告诉你,我和我所有的老师和同学相处得都很好。
7.动词不定式的时态和语态
