文化知识——中外打招呼上的文化差异
中国人在与较为熟悉的人打招呼时常问对方“去哪儿?”或“吃过了吗?”如果把这些问候直译成英语( Where are yu ging? Have yu had dinner yet?) 问候英美人士,对方则会感到茫然、困惑,还可能引起误解。不了解中国文化习俗的外国人并不了解这是种起寒暄作用的问候语,比如你问对方: Where are yu ging? 很可能引起对方的不快,他(她)对这一问话的心理反应极有可能是: It’s nne f yur business. (与你无关。)如果问Have yu had dinner yet? 对方可能认为你在向他(她)发出吃饭的邀请,而不会认为这是单纯的见面问候语。
英美人士见面一般用 Gd mrning/afternn/evening. (早上/下午/晩上好。) Hw are yu? (你好吗?) Nice t see yu. (很高兴见到您/你。)等来打招呼,而且寒暄的内容也常常是关于天气等的话题。关系较亲密的人之间也可直接用Hell或Hi等简单问候对方。
