The Gurugram-based startup Rivig was funded in 2014 by Deepak Garg. The central bjective f the nw billin-dllar cmpany was t create a mdel where n truck driver wuld drive fr mre than 5-6 hurs at a stretch and wuld reach hme the same day.
Lking t build a cmpany, Deepak realized that the rise f e-cmmerce had dramatically increased the demand fr trucks, yet in India the industry was struggling with a shrtage f drivers. Hw culd this be in a cuntry f ver a billin peple with a high unemplyment rate— despite healthy wages fr truck drivers?
T slve this puzzle, Deepak visited small villages where many truck drivers culd be fund. During his ne-n-ne cnversatins he discvered that since truck drivers are almst always n the rad, they ften develp bad habits such as heavy drinking. Partly because f this, few villagers wanted a sn t becme a truck driver r a daughter t marry ne. What, then, was the slutin? Culd it be t bring the drivers back t their hmes every night? That culd wrk --- but hw culd he make it happen if a trucker’s trip tk three r fur days?
A relay service, Deepak realized, culd slve the prblem. Effectively, he built truck stps fur hurs apart alng a selected rute. A driver culd g frm pint A t pint B, drp his truck there and pick up anther truck t drive frm B back t A. Anther driver in turn wuld pick up the truck frm B and take it t pint C, and s n. This nt nly brught drivers hme each night, but created great value fr lgistics (物流) cmpanies. A truck that was previusly used fr nly 10 t 12 hurs a day, allwing drivers time t sleep and eat, culd nw perate fr mre than 20 hurs, cutting ttal delivery times by almst half.
T be sure, there’s a lt f technlgy behind the scene. But the funder strngly believes being humane (人道的) abve anything else is the biggest factr that distinguishes him frm the cmmn crwd.
24. What was the main purpse f Rivig?

A. They earn a lw wage.
B. They easily becme unemplyed.
C. They are ften away frm hme.
D. They have t verwrk frequently.
26. Hw can Deepak’s mdel benefit lgistics cmpanies?
A. It makes better use f trucks.
B. It cuts the csts f hiring drivers.
C. It imprves lgistics technlgy greatly.
D. It saves them the truble f building truck stps.
27. What is the message mainly expressed in Deepak’s stry?

“Eating tgether” is a statement that dctrs use regularly when they talk with families abut maintaining nrmal weight. Children wh eat regular family meals tend t have lwer rates f besity. A new study takes a lk at why.
A team led by Jerica Berg asked the families f 120 children t recrd eight days f meals. Berge’s team srted the interactins ccurring at the table int tw brad grups—thse relating t the emtinal atmsphere at the meal, such as hw much the family members seemed t be enjying the time tgether, and hw many uncmfrtable silences ccurred—and thse invlving fd specially, such as hw many unpleasant feelings emerged frm discussins abut fd, and hw much the parents cntrlled what and hw much children ate.
Children wh were verweight had family meals that included mre negative emtinal interactins cmpared t children wh weren’t verweight. Their meals tended t have a warmer, mre cmmunicative atmsphere. Fr example, these children were encuraged t eat fds t get strnger r run faster, while heavier children experienced mre negative pressures including threats and being made t feel guilty abut thse wh can’t affrd t eat three meals a day. If parents talk cnstantly thrughut the meal abut fd, and lectured the children abut hmewrk r attempted t cntrl what the children ate, the yungsters were als mre likely t be heavy. Als, the researchers fund heavier children tended t have shrter meals.
In the meantime, the current data suggests that simply sitting dwn at the same table at the same time isn’t enugh t influence besity. And it’s up t family dctrs t help families understand hw t take full advantage f breaking bread tgether.
28. What were srted int tw grups by Berge’s team?
A. Fds served at three meals.
B. Cnversatins happening during dinner.
C. Features f family meals influencing weight.
D. Feelings emerging frm discussins abut fd.
29. What did parents with nn-bese children d at the table?
A. They tld the children t eat t get healthy.
B They talked with the children abut hmewrk.
C. They lectured the children abut treasuring fd.
D. They asked the children t finish meals quickly.
30. What kind f tip shuld family dctrs ffer families?
A. Cking delicius meals.
B. Dieting in a healthy manner.
C. Creating shared cnversatin tpics.
D. Making gd use f dining tgether.
31. What is the best title fr the text?
A. Hw besity spreads acrss family members
B. Why mre children are becming verweight
C. Why parents shuld eat tgether with children
D. Hw dining with parents affects besity in kids

At 3:30 a.m. EDT n April 19, the Ingenuity helicpter --- which landed n Mars with the Perseverance rver (漫游者) in February --- tk ff frm the Martian surface. Mre imprtantly, it circled fr abut 30 secnds, three meters abve the surface and came right back dwn again.
It may nt sund like a huge achievement, but it is. Ingenuity’s flight is the first pwered flight f an aircraft n anther planet. It marks the milestne in the stry f human space explratin.
There are several technlgical challenges t cnduct helicpter flight in anther wrld. First, and mre significantly, helicpters need an atmsphere t fly. The blades (桨叶), r “rtrs” f a helicpter must spin (旋转) fast enugh t generate a frce called “lift”. But lift can nly be generated in the presence f sme kind f atmsphere. While Mars des have an atmsphere, it’s much, much thinner than Earth’s --- abut 100 times thinner, in fact.
Flying Ingenuity in Mar’s atmsphere is therefre the equivalent (对等物) f flying a helicpter n Earth at a height f 100,000 feet. Fr reference, cmmercial aircraft fly between 30,000-40,000 feet abve the Earth’s surface and the highest we’ve ever been in a helicpter n Earth is 42,000 feet.
Then there’s the Martian gravity t cnsider. It is abut ne-third the strength f gravity n Earth, which means we’d be able t lift Ingenuity with less pwer than wuld be required here. But while Mars’ gravity wrks t ur advantage, this is cancelled ut by the lack f atmsphere.
Even sending the signal fr the flight t begin required a cllectin f advanced technlgy. While it nly requires minutes fr radi signals t travel between Earth and Mars, there was still a delay f hurs fr thse signals t reach the helicpter.
All these things require Ingenuity t be light enugh. Actually, it weighs less than 4 punds, stands just 1.6 feet tall, and carries batteries, heaters and sensrs. Besides, its tw rtrs had t spin abut 2,400 revlutins per minute — five times faster than n Earth.
When in flight, Ingenuity’s shadw gives the impressin f versized, fur-winged dragnfly. But the tiny craft is set t make an enrmus impact n space explratin. “Sjurner’s technical expsure in 1997 gave NASA the guarantee f future pilts. What the Ingenuity team has dne has given us a new chance. I think that’s the way we build the future,” said JPL directr Michael Watkins. In additin, Watkins believes that Ingenuity is expected t lay the fundatin fr mre antigravity spacecraft capable f explring ther wrlds in a ttally new way.
32. Which f the fllwing is f extrardinary significance accrding t the authr?
A. The Ingenuity helicpter landed n Mars successfully
B. The Ingenuity helicpter made its first flight n Mars.
C. The Ingenuity helicpter stayed n Mars fr a lng time
D. The Ingenuity helicpter travelled between Mars and Earth.
33. What can we learn abut Mars’ atmsphere?
A. It can hardly prvide a lift fr Ingenuity t fly.
B. It’s nt safe fr Ingenuity t fly high and fast.
C. It’s t thin t keep Ingenuity stable in the air.
D. It can nly raise Ingenuity t a height f 100,000 feet.
34. What can we knw frm Paragraph 3 t Paragraph 6?
A. Hw Ingenuity perfrmed during the flight
B. Why Ingenuity’s flight n Mars is a big deal
C. Hw Ingenuity survived the tugh cnditins f Mars
D. What cntributed t the successful flight f Ingenuity
35. Why did Michael Watkins mentin Sjurner?
A. T explain hw its missin differs frm Ingenuity’s.
B. T shw technlgical prgress in Mars explratin.
C. T stress the significance f Ingenuity’s flight n Mars.
D. T illustrate the impact f space explratin n future flight.
