After praying befre the Blessed Sacrament,I hit the subfreezing streets with n mney. I gt int a line f men, wmen and children waiting t be admitted int the dining rm where a free ht meal is served every day.
Frm there I walked t Health Care fr the Hmeless—an rganizatin dedicated t prviding free medical care t peple wh have n permanent residence. Inside were abut 75 hmeless wmen and men waiting t be seen by a nurse. There I spke with an lder man wh had serius family prblems that caused his hmelessness.
Next,I stpped at a htel and fast fd restaurant asking if they were hiring. Frm there I walked the streets f dwntwn Baltimre asking peple fr a little lse change t buy a cup f cffee. I plitely apprached apprximately 35 peple. Abut 30 f them ignred me,and said they didn't have any mney,r simply said n. But five peple did ffer me a small dnatin. I explained what I was ding, and thankfully declined their genersity.
Later that night,as I walked back t my vehicle,I realized that I was a richer persn fr having lived ne day as a hmeless man. I thught abut the hmeless men and wmen I encuntered, and their prblems.
