Fr quite sme time I have had an interest in the situatin f the hmeless. I have read abut it,prayed ver it,and have dne small things t help. But feeling that I culd, and shuld,d mre t make a difference,I cncluded that living as a hmeless man-at least fr a very brief perid-was the best way t understand what it's like t have n place t call hme.
I decided that St. Vincent de Paul Cathlic Church wuld be my first stp. Since the church pens its basement t hmeless peple every Friday fr a ht meal,St. Vincent's was symblically a very gd place t start my day as a hmeless man.
After praying befre the Blessed Sacrament,I hit the subfreezing streets with n mney. I gt int a line f men, wmen and children waiting t be admitted int the dining rm where a free ht meal is served every day.
Frm there I walked t Health Care fr the Hmeless—an rganizatin dedicated t prviding free medical care t peple wh have n permanent residence. Inside were abut 75 hmeless wmen and men waiting t be seen by a nurse. There I spke with an lder man wh had serius family prblems that caused his hmelessness.
Next,I stpped at a htel and fast fd restaurant asking if they were hiring. Frm there I walked the streets f dwntwn Baltimre asking peple fr a little lse change t buy a cup f cffee. I plitely apprached apprximately 35 peple. Abut 30 f them ignred me,and said they didn't have any mney,r simply said n. But five peple did ffer me a small dnatin. I explained what I was ding, and thankfully declined their genersity.
Later that night,as I walked back t my vehicle,I realized that I was a richer persn fr having lived ne day as a hmeless man. I thught abut the hmeless men and wmen I encuntered, and their prblems.

Hme t reefs, sharks and many extic fish, the Cral Sea is a unique reserve f bidiversity ff the nrtheastern cast f Australia. If a prpsal by the Australian gvernment ges ahead, the regin will becme the wrld's largest marine prtected area, with bans n fishing, mining and marine farming.
The Cral Sea reserve will cver almst 990, 000 square kilmeters and stretch as far as 1, 100 kilmeters frm the cast. Revealed by envirnment minister Tny Burke, the prpsal will be the last in a series f prpsed marine reserves arund Australia's cast.

Critics say the suthwestern reserve ffers the greatest prtectin t the ffshre areas where there is little threat t the envirnment, a cntrversy als leveled at the Cral Sea plan.

    C. Upgrade the established reserves t prtect marine life.
    D. Cmplete the series f marine reserves arund its cast.

    B. It will result in the establishment f the wrld's largest marine reserve.
    C. It will ensure the sustainability f the fishing industry arund the cast.
    D. It is an enrmus jint effrt t prtect the range f marine habitats.
    15. What d critics think f the Cral Sea plan?
    A. It will affect Australia's fishing industry.
    B. It will d mre harm than gd t the envirnment.
    C. It will prtect regins that actually require little prtectin.
    D. It will win little supprt frm envirnmental rganizatins.
