I lved the water and spent all my free time sailing. It was my favurite hbby. After I left schl, I gt a jb in an ffice. I still went sailing every weekend. I wasn’t happy with my jb. I fund it very bring. I thught abut sailing every day.
    One day, I decided t leave my jb in the ffice and make my hbby my career! I trained t be a sailing teacher. Nw I spend every day teaching peple hw t sail safely. I’m very happy nw. I lve my jb.
    A Talk time
    We can use sme tw-syllable wrds as bth nuns and verbs. As nuns, the stress is n the first syllable. As verbs, the stress is n the secnd syllable.

    Say these nuns and verbs in pairs. Stress the underlined syllables.

    有些英语单词当词性不同时,读音也不相同。一般情况下,这些单词作名词时,其重音在第一个音节;作动词时,其重音在第二个音节,而且其第一个音节的元音(指的是元音音标)通常会有一定的变化。如:exprt作名词时读/ˈekspɔːt/,作动词时读/ɪkˈspɔːt/;recrd 作名词时读/ˈrekɔːd/,作动词时读/rɪˈkɔːd/。
