    A Wrking in a muntain area
    Step 1 Lead-in
    1. Play a vide
    T: Here is a map f China. D yu knw where Guizhu is? It’s in the suth-west f China. And what abut Xinjiang? It is in the nrth-west f China.
    This girl is Judy. She is Peter’s cusin. She likes travelling. Last year, she went n a trip t Guizhu and visited a lcal primary schl. She made a vide abut the students there. Let’s watch the vide. While watching, please think abut hw their lives are.
    2. Have a talk
    T: After watching the vide, we knw that children in muntain areas live a hard life. Let’s wrk tgether t take care f thse children and their dreams.

    Step 2 Listening
    1. Part A1
    T: Judy wanted t be a vlunteer teacher t help these children, s she tk part in a vlunteer prject. Nw she is telling Peter abut it. Lk thrugh the questins and ptins carefully befre listening.

    (2) Play the tape f Part A1 and check the answers.

    T: Peter wants t knw abut Judy’s vlunteer life. He has prepared the fllwing questins. Can yu predict what Judy will say?
    T: Nw Judy is talking t Peter n the phne abut her experience. Listen t their cnversatin and help Peter cmplete his ntes. Here is anther listening tip fr yu: Try t predict sme missing wrds befre listening.

    (2) We can help blind peple crss the street and prvide seeing eye dgs fr them.
    (3) We can save ur pcket mney and dnate it t pr peple. It’s imprtant t help them find jbs.
    (4) If we see disabled peple arund us, we shuld help them g up and dwn stairs. We can als help them crss the rad.
    (5) When we meet the elderly n the bus, we shuld give ur seats t them. At the weekend, we can help them clean their huses.
