    2. New structures: Wall Street, the wrld-famus trade centre, is here at the suthern end f Manhattan Island.
    Further n is Times Square. Every year, thusands f peple gather here n New Year’s Eve.
    It’s exciting t see the huge glass ball falling thrugh the darkness!
    With several lakes, hills and a large green lawn, it’s a gd place t relax after a hard day’s wrk.
    It has been famus fr its theatres since the early twentieth century.

    Step 1 Lead-in

    T: As we can see, there are many different places f interest in the wrld. Wuld yu like t visit these interesting places? D yu think it is pssible fr us t travel arund them within several hurs?

    T: Perhaps yu d nt have enugh time r mney. Tday, let’s visit sme interesting places with the help f the website’s guide. In this article Arund the Wrld in Eight Hurs, yu will knw hw t visit different places in nly eight hurs.

    Skim: Read the passage quickly in rder t find the main pint.

    Scan: Read the passage and find ut the particular infrmatin.
    快速阅读找到某一具体信息。
    T: Scan the passage and answer a questin: Hw can yu start the nline tur?

    (2) Mre infrmatin.
    T: Read the passage as fast as yu can and answer tw questins:
    What’s the name f the website?
    Which city will yu visit?
    T: Smetimes, we can get infrmatin frm the title, the pictures and the first sentence f each paragraph.
