[2023·合肥市第三次质量检测]Brn n July 1st, 1948, in the small Italian city f Palmi, Rbert Crea was a genius kid. He mved t the Netherlands and majred in Bilgical Chemistry. It was this university that directed his interest in the synthesis (合成) f nucletides, the basic units that are required t build DNA. At that time, nt many researchers studied the cmbinatin f genes (基因), but Rbert's strng chemistry backgrund made a histrical inventin pssible.
In 1977, he jined the Genentech, Inc. and the gene synthesis team at City f Hpe Medical Schl. The cmpany funded Dr. Crea's nging research n gene synthesis. After wrking day and night, the brilliant individual finally invented a new prcedure that imprved the chemical synthesis f genes. Thanks t his rich knwledge and the jint effrts f the excellent Genentech team, he made use f this__discvery t prduce the human insulin (胰岛素) genes, A and B. It was his inventin that allwed Genentech t be labeled as the first prducer f human prtein. This benefited hundreds f millins f peple suffering frm diabetes (糖尿病) all ver the wrld.
Tday Rbert is knwn as the father f synthetic insulin and had almst wn the Nbel Prize. His effrts did nt stp after discvering the synthetic insulin; in fact, he was mre than driven and tried t make mre cntributins t the field f bitechnlgy. His team f experts discvered Zicntide under his teachings and guidance. Accrding t leading scientists and researchers, this drug is mre pwerful and effective than mrphine (吗啡), and the best part f this is that it has zer sideeffects.

[2023·广州市普通高中综合测试]When the Chinese spacecraft (航天器) Chang'e5 returned t the Earth n December 17, 2020, it brught back smething nt seen n ur planet since the 1970s: mn rck samples. This precius carg, cllected by Chang'e5's rbtic research vehicle in the nrthwest regin f the lunar near side, is nw being studied by scientists in Beijing. The success f the latest Chinese space missin als shwcased technlgy that may be used in future years t create human settlements n the Earth's near neighbur.
“The returned lunar samples will abslutely add new knwledge f the histry f the mn, particularly its vlcanes,” says Xia Lng, a planetary scientist at China University f Gesciences. “The rcks sent back by Chang'e5 will ask us t rethink abut why and hw the mn's vlcanic histry lasts this lng,” he says.
The Chang'e5 missin was mre than just a trip t cllect mn rcks. It was als the latest stage f a lng, planned sequence f rbtic lunar explratins by China that have grwn ever mre scientifically advanced.
The prgram began with the 2007 launch f Chang'e1 and Chang'e2 three years later. These craft circled the mn cllecting data used t help guide Chang'e3 and Chang'e4, the first Chinese spacecraft t land n the mn surface, and t direct their rbtic vehicles. The rbt n Chang'e5 was able t cllect rck and sil samples and return them t the Earth. In the near future, an identical spacecraft called Chang'e6 will attempt a samplereturn missin frm the mn's suth ple—an area f intense scientific interest—given the large amunt f water ice present.
The mre advanced Chang'e7 and Chang'e8 spacecraft are als planned t land near the suth ple t carry ut analysis f the regin and test new technlgies, including detecting and btaining materials that culd be useful t future human explrers, such as water and hydrgen, and testing 3D printing n the lunar surface.
The lngterm aim f the Chang'e prgram is t establish an Internatinal Lunar Research Statin arund 2030 t supprt rbtic and, eventually, crewed missins.
8.What is Paragraph 2 mainly abut?
A.The mn's recent vlcanic activities.
B.The significance f the mn rck samples.
C.New knwledge f the histry f the mn.
D.Further studies f the returned lunar samples.
9.What distinguishes the missin f Chang'e6 frm that f Chang'e5?
A.The technlgy they use.
B.The time they spend n the mn.
C.The specific lcatins they explre.
D.The amunt f material they bring back.
10.Chang'e7 and Chang'e8 space missins are mainly intended t ________.
A.transprt researchers t the mn statin
B.build up an Internatinal Lunar Research Statin
C.cllect data necessary t guide mnlanding spacecraft
D.find and test resurces and means t supprt living n the mn
11.Which f the fllwing best summarizes the Chang'e space prgram?
A.A prject t study the surface f the mn.
B.A plan t imprve human settlements n the mn.
C.A set f experiments t test the pssibility f manned spacecraft.
D.A series f increasingly challenging scientific lunar explratins.

[2023·昆明市高三模拟]As digital devices (设备) have taken ver sciety, “Keybard activity is nw ften recmmended as a substitute fr early handwriting,”a new study ntes. The idea is that typing may be easier fr yung children.
“Sme schls in Nrway have becme cmpletely digital,” ntes Audrey Van der Meer, the new study's leader, wh measures brain activity t better understand learning and behavirs. She wrks at the Nrwegian University f Science and Technlgy in Trndheim. The human brain has develped t interact with the wrld in as many ways as pssible, she ntes. She believes that yung children shuld learn t write by hand successfully, and, at the same time learn t manage a keybard.
Using a pen invlves mre f the brain than using a keybard, her new findings shw. This is because writing and printing invlve cmplex mvements that activate mre areas f the brain. The increased brain activity, “gives the brain mre ‘hks’ t hang yur memries n,” she explains.
Think abut it. The same mvement is required t type each letter n a keybard. By cmparisn, when we write, ur brain needs t think abut and recver memries f the shape f each letter. We als need t use ur eyes t watch what shapes we're writing. And we need t cntrl ur hands t press a pen r pencil t shape the different letters. All f this uses and cnnects mre areas f the brain.
Alng the way, these prcesses appear t “pen the brain up fr learning”, says Van der Meer. S learning thrugh nly ne frmat—digital—culd be harmful, she wrries.
Van der Meer als pints ut that taking ntes by hand stimulates (激发)“visual ntetaking”. Rather than typing blindly, the visual ntetaker has t think abut what is imprtant t write dwn. Then, key wrds can be“interlinked by bxes, and arrws, and supplemented by small drawings”.
12.What is the main idea f the text?
A.Digital devices are ppular with students.
B.Handwriting beats typing in taking ntes.
C.The prcess f taking ntes changes thinking.
D.The new study makes cntributins t science.
13.What shuld yung kids d accrding t Van der Meer?
A.Cmmunicate with the wrld.
B.Rely n keybard activity.
C.Learn t write by hand.
D.Master basic drawing skills.
14.Hw des the authr draw the cnclusin?
A.By studying hw the brain develps.
B.By bserving scial phenmena.
C.By assessing functins f senses.
D.By cmparing ways f taking ntes.
15.In which sectin f a newspaper may the text appear?
A.Relatinship. B.Fashin.
C.Culture. D.Science.
