一、教材分析
教材充分体现“以人为本”的科学发展观，即面向全体又关注并体现学生的个体差异。教材内容的安排符合学生的认知水平，联系学生的生活实际，注意激发学生的学习兴趣，促进学生综合平衡发展。重视语言学习策略的培养，帮助学生提高英语学习效率。教材让学生通过体验、实践、参与、探究和合作第方式感悟、发现并总结语言规律，有效学习语言知识，培养语言学习的策略和能力。Unit8主要是了解西方的传统节日，体验中西方饮食文化的差异，激发对中国传统文化的热爱珍惜与家人团聚的时光，以及食物的制作过程。
本节课是unit 8sectin B第二课时的内容，其中心话题围绕食物制作和感恩节这个题材开展多种教学活动。Sectin B主要是语言的学习、巩固和运用阶段。这节课是以阅读为核心整体设计的。2a是阅读前的预热活动，2b-2c是读中理解活动。2b让学生快速阅读文章并理解其大意，2e是对阅读文章的拓展，让学生读后关注语言的使用。2a-2e的活动设计体现了阅读前、阅读中和阅读后的完整阅读教学过程。话题贴近学生日常生活，容易激起学生学习兴趣。
二.教学目标

Wrds: Thanksgiving, traditinal, autumn, celebrate, mix, pepper, fill, ven, plate, cver, gravy
Phrases :give thanks fr sth, mix tgether, fill…with, put…in, place…n, cver…with, cut…int pieces

三、学情分析
学生们已经八年级了，他们有一定的英语单词和句子基础，他们好奇，活跃，喜欢竞争，喜欢在轻松的气氛中通过小组活动进行学习，具备基本的自主学习能力基础。
四、学法和教法
学法：新课程强调教育必须以学生的发展为本，必须以学生为中心，采用多样化的学习方式。让学生自主学习、探究学习、合作学习。教法：视听教学法，趣味教学法、语法翻译法、任务教学法。
五、教学过程
Step 1 Warming up and lead in

设计意图:通过多媒体展示的图片能吸引学生的注意力，激起学习兴趣活跃课堂气氛，使学生以轻松、愉快的心情上课导入感恩节。

设计意图：通过多媒体展示的视频能吸引学生的注意力，使学生初步对感恩节的由来等进行了解，通过标题及图片信息使学生对文章大意进行推测。

设计意图：通过速读、略读、跳读使学生对感恩节进行全面了解，锻炼学生的思维能力，使学生在合作中体验学习的快乐。

六、教学反思
评价不及时
给学生展示的机会比较少，应给学生更多的机会展示，对时间把握不够好。
