In the middle f the first semester f schl, the entire seventh grade was tested fr basic skills. Steve hurried thrugh his tests, and cntinued t dream f ther things. His heart was nt in schl, but in the wds, where he ften escaped alne, trying t shut ut the sights, sunds and smells f his alchlic hme.
One day, Miss White’s impatient vice brke int his .
“Steve!!” Startled, he turned t lk at her.
