They played the animals sunds f nrmal cnversatins f humans in fur Suth African languages, dgs barking, gunshts and lin sunds.
The study grup fund that animals were twice as likely t flee and yacated an area faster when they heard human vices than when they heard lins r gunshts. This was true fr 95 percent f the animal species bserved, including giraffes, lepards, hyenas, zebras, kudu, warthgs, impalas and rhins. Only elephants were significantly mre likely t run frm lins than frm humans.
The same was true f the time that animals spent at water hles: they usually stayed lnger when lin sunds were played t them than when human vices were heard.
