The researchers send plluted water dwn a tube. The tube’s water flws past a transducer, which turns electrical energy int sund energy. It makes ultrasund waves that travel frm ne side f the tube t the ther. When they hit micrplastics, these waves exert（施加）a frce n the plastic bits.
What happens next depends n the size f thse plastic bits. Ones less than abut 180micrmeters acrss will mve t the center f the flw. Larger nes will interact with each ther and create an additinal frce. This sends thse larger nes tward the ther end f flwing water.
