展开The light that cmes frm the sun seems white t us. But the white light we see is made up f a mix f different clrs. When the light ges thrugh a raindrp, these clrs can separate ut. Each f the clrs in the rainbw has a different “wavelength” (波长). Raindrps lk like little balls. When light hits ne f these little balls f water, the light can change directin. We call this “refractin” (折射). Each f the different wavelengths is refracted differently. If the light hits the raindrp at the right place, the refractin separates the wavelengths ut int their different clrs.
We are taught there are seven clrs: red, range, yellw, green, blue, indig and vilet. But this isn’t exactly true. We wuld never see black and white in a rainbw. Black is what we see when there’s n light at all. On the ther hand, white is a mix f all the clrs tgether. When light is refracted by raindrps, it separates the white light ut, meaning it is n lnger white.
