I became less afraid and mre curius abut what had happened. But I was whlly unprepared fr the stry they tld.
A three-year-ld by playing in the water near the shre was abut t sink. His family members and beachgers rushed t help, carrying the by t the beach, but n ne was sure what t d next. One f my students was at the beach that day and rushed ver t help. She had taken a first-aid curse that I’d taught as an after-schl prgram. She began CPR(心肺复苏) and asked thers t call 911. By the time dctrs arrived, the child was able t breathe in his mther’s arms.
As teachers, we knw children learn thrugh ur energy and effrt. They becme interested. Sme find their passins and g after their dreams. In this way we knw we have the pwer t change lives. I’d add that nce in a while we have the pwer t save a life.

Hwever, she had never actually had t use the life-saving technique befre, and after a few tries, it wasn’t quite wrking. Luckily, anther custmer was just a few feet away in the parking lt. She shuted fr help, hping that anther persn’s strength cmbined with hers wuld help frce whatever was in the wman’s muth t finally cme ut.
