3、数词的应用
(1). 年月日的表示：① 年份用基数词，如2000——tw thusand; 1905——nineteen 0 five
② 日用序数词，如5月8日，写作：May 8th; 读作：May the eighth;
(2). 分数的表达：分子用基数词，分母用序数词，分子大于1，分母则加s。
如1/3 ne third; 2/3tw thirds; 1/4 ne furth/a quarter; 3/4 three furths/ three quarters;
. 倍数的表达：一倍nce; 两倍twice; 两倍以上用基数词+times：5倍——five times
(4).时间表达法：时间可用顺读法或倒读法两种方式表达, 介词要使用at。例如：
5：00 five (’clck)
6：18 six eighteen或 eighteen past six
12：15 twelve fifteen 或fifteen (a quarter) past twelve
4：30 fur thirty或 half past fur
6：45 six frty-five a quarter t seven
注意：
序数词应注意的几点事项：
1. 多位数的基数词变成序数词时，只需将末位基数词变成序数词，前边的基数词不变。如：
frty-tw 42 frty-secnd 第42
nine-hundred 900 nine-hundredth 第900
2. 当序数词用阿拉伯数字表示时，必须在数字后加上序数词的最后两个字母。
如：21st第21 32nd第32
3. 编了号的事物要用基数词表示顺序，但是基数词要后置。
例如： 第一课：Lessn One 第三十二页：Page 32
第305房间：Rm 305 第12路公共汽车：Bas N.12
4. 序数词前一般要用定冠词the，如果序数词前用a或an时，则表示“又一；再一”（没有具体范围的限制）。如：Thugh he had failed twice，he wanted t try a third time. 尽管他已失败了两次，他还想再试一次。
The little mnkey had had three apples，and he wanted t eat a furth ne.
那只小猴子已经吃了3个苹果，他还想再吃一个。
时间表达注意：
1. 表示整点时间，直接用基数词表达，后边可接’clck (也可不加)。表达“几点几分”时，绝不能用’clck。
2. 表达“15分”或“45分”时，常用quarter（刻）。
3. 在倒读法中，如果钟点不过半，须用“分钟数+past+钟点数”的形式；如果钟点过半，则用“差多少分钟数+t+全钟点（下个钟点数）”的形式。
