1. The past participle as the predicative 过去分词作表语
表语是说明主语的身份、性质、品性、特征和状态的,表语位于系动词之后,与系动词联系十分紧密,有系动词就有表语,有表语就有系动词。通常由名词、形容词、介词短语、不定式、动名词或从句来充当。如果句子的表语也是由一个句子充当的,那么这个充当表语的句子就叫做表语从句,表语就是起表述作用的句子成分之一。
观察下列句子所作成分并总结规律

过去分词可置于______后作_____语,用来表示主语的性质、特征或_______。其前的系动词包括be动词、感官动词get, feel, remain, seem, lk, becme等多种形式。
用法① 过去分词可放在连系动词be,get,feel,remain,seem,lk,becme等之后作表语,表示主语所处的状态, 相当于一个形容词。
用法② 过去分词作表语,构成的系表结构与被动语态的区别:V-ed作表语,强调主语的特点或状态,相当于形容词;被动语态中,句子主语是动作的承受者,后面常跟by。

过去分词表方式或伴随时相当于一个由_____引导的并列句。
⑤过去分词短语作____________状语

=Althugh she was left alne at hme, he didn’t feel afraid at all.
过去分词短语做状语, 表让步,相当于thugh, althugh引导的_____________。

过去分词(短语)作状语,表时间、条件、原因、让步、方式或伴随等情况, 相当于一个状语从句。
1. 作时间状语,可转换为when, while或after等引导的状语从句。
2. 作条件状语,可转换为if, nce或unless等引导的状语从句。
3. 作原因状语,可转换为as, since或because等引导状语从句
5. 作让步状语 ,可转换为althugh, thugh或even if等引导的状语从句。
4. 作方式或伴随状语 ,则可转换为and并列结构。
过去分词短语作状语时,前面有时可以加上when, if, while, thugh, as if 等连词,这种结构可以看作是一种省略的状语从句(省略部分多为 “主语 + be 的多种形式”)。需要注意的是,省略的主语必须和主句的主语相同,如:
If / When (water is) heated, water changes int steam.Even if (I am) invited, I wn’t g.We will nt attack unless (we are) attacked.The girl is very shy, and never speaks until (the girl is)spken t.
