Period 1 (Section A 1a-1c)设计说明 本课时重点:一是掌握表地点的名词或介词短语;二是学习“Is there...near here? ”句型。通过听说训练,能运用There be结构询问街道上某场所的位置,能够运用所学内容为他人指明去某一地点的路线;采用多媒体辅助教学、小组自主问答形式,结合任务调查进行对话,巩固新学句型“Is there...? ”及其答语。教学目标 1. 知识目标: (1)掌握单词和短语:post,office,police,hotel,restaurant,bank,hospital,street,pay,near;post office,police station,pay phone。 (2)掌握句型: —Is there...near here? —Yes,there is. /No,there isn’t. 2. 能力目标: 学会运用 There be句型描述社区周围的公共设施。 3. 情感目标: 通过运用简单的问路和指路的交际用语,学会相互合作,培养乐于助人的精神。重点难点 1. 重点: (1)本课时单词及短语。 (2)There be句型的一般疑问句及其答语。 2. 难点: 公共设施的名称、功能及There be句型的使用规则。教学准备 多媒体课件,1b的音频文件。教学过程 Step 1 Warming up & Leading in 1. Duty report as usual. 2. Show the students the following pictures to revise the prepositions “on,in,under”. T:Where is the ball? Ss:It’s on the box. ... Step 2 Presentation 1. Use a multimedia system to show the students the following pictures to learn the new words and phrases: hotel,park,post office,bank,restaurant,hospital,street,pay phone,police station T:Look at the pictures. Talk about them with your partner and say what places they are. For example,look at picture 1. We often pay to stay and eat meals. What’s this in English? Ss:It’s a hotel. T:Read after me,H-O-T-E-L,hotel. Ss:H-O-T-E-L,hotel. Choose the words or phrases from the box and complete the sentences. (1)Let’s go to the restaurant and eat some delicious food. (2)On weekends,children like to play in the park. (3)Can you go to the post office to send a letter for me? (4)I have some money in the bank. (5)Don’t play on the street. It’s dangerous. (6)A policeman works in a police station. (7)A doctor works in a hospital. (8)I’m using a pay phone to call you. (9)When you travel,you can stay in a hotel. Step 4 Practice 1. T:Look at the picture. There are many places in it. Is there a post office near here? Ss:Yes,there is. T:Is there a bank on Bridge Street? Ss:No,there isn’t. T:Please ask and answer questions in pairs according to the picture. 2. T:Look at the picture in 1a. Please practice the conversation with your partner. Then ask some pairs to share their conversations in class. For example: S1:Is there a hospital near here? S2:Yes,there is. It’s on Bridge Street. Step 5 Group work 1. Read and fill in the blanks. (1)There be结构中,be动词的单复数取决于其后的名词。若名词为可数名词复数,则用are;若名词为可数名词单数或不可数名词,则用 is。 There are 40 students in my class. There is some milk in the bottle. 注意:若有两个或两个以上的并列名词,be动词与最靠近它的名词在数上保持一致,即遵循“就近原则”。 There is an eraser and two pencils in the box. There are two pencils and an eraser in the box. (2)There be结构的否定句是直接在be后加not。is not可缩写为isn’t,are not可缩写为aren’t。 There isn’t (be not) a bank near here. There aren’t (be not) any banks on Center Street. (3)There be结构的一般疑问句为“Be there...? ”,其肯定答语为“Yes,there be. ”;否定答语为“No,there be not. ”。 —Is there a house near here? —Yes,there is. —Are there 45 students in your class? —No,there aren’t. There are only 42. 2. Work in groups to describe their neighborhood using“There be...”. For example: There is a supermarket on Center Street. There is a bank near our school.
