Period 3 (Section B 1a-1d)设计说明 本课时的主要内容是把本单元语言目标进行知识拓展,用于交际活动中,如学习向左/右转和直走这几个短语。通过自主参与、合作交流提高学生在听力方面捕捉信息的技能,提高学生学习的积极性,同时在对话训练中不断提高学生的语言表达能力。教学目标 1. 知识目标: (1)掌握单词和短语:along,turn,right,left,crossing; go along,turn right/left。 (2)掌握句型: 常见的问路和指路的表达。 2. 能力目标: 学会运用“Is there a...? ”或“Where is the...? ”及其答语等询问与指出方向。 3. 情感目标: 通过学生对自己生活环境的描述,培养学生热爱家乡、助人为乐的品质。重点难点 1. 重点: 问路和指路的常用表达。 2. 难点: 如何问路和指路。教学准备 多媒体课件,1b/1c的音频文件。教学过程 Step 1 Free talk Ask the students to talk about the buildings around their school or houses freely. For example: S1:Is there a supermarket near our school? S2:Yes,there is. S1:Where is it? S2:It’s on Zhongshan Road. It’s next to the post office. Step 2 Presentation 1. Show the students the signs and ask them to guess what the signs mean in English. Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 For example: T:Look at picture 1. What does it mean in English? Help the students to say “turn left”. Teach other phrases in the same way and practice reading them. 2. Translate the words and phrases into English. (1)沿着 along (2)转向 turn (3)右边 right (4)左边 left (5)向右转 turn right (6)向左转 turn left (7)十字路口 crossing (8)沿……走 go/walk along 3. Listen carefully and do according to the teacher’s instructions. Ask the students to play a game with the phrases “go along”“turn left”and“turn right”. 4. Look at 1a. Let the students match the phrases in the box with the signs,and see who does the best and most quickly. Check the answers. Answers:1. a 2. c 3. b Step 3 Listening 1. Ask the students to watch the picture in 1b carefully. First,listen and make notes about the places they are looking for. Then listen again and write the correct place for each letter in the picture. Answers:A. restaurant B. hotel 2. Listen again. Fill in the blanks in 1c. Then check the answers. Answers:hotel;along,left;right;next to,bank;hotel;Go;Turn,across from 3. Role-play the conversation in 1c in pairs. 4. Work in groups. (1)along意为“沿着”,相当于down。 go along意为“沿着……走”,相当于walk along。 Just go along the river. Five minutes later,you’ll find the park. 只需沿着河走,5分钟后你就会发现那个公园。 (2)crossing为名词,意为“十字路口”;across为介词或副词,意为“穿过”;cross为动词,意为“横过;穿过”。 Go across/Cross the bridge and turn left at the first crossing. 过桥后在第一个十字路口左转。 (3)“turn right/left+at the+序数词+crossing”表示“在第几个十字路口向右/左转”。 (4)on one’s/the left/right在……左边/右边 The boy on my left is my cousin. 在我左边的男孩是我堂兄。 Step 4 Pair work 1. Imagine you are the two people in the picture in 1b. Make your own conversation. For example: Imagine you want to go to the supermarket,but you don’t know the way. Please ask your partner. S1:Excuse me. Is there a supermarket near here? S2:Yes,there is. Just go along Bridge Street and turn left at the first crossing. It’s down Long Street on the right. It’s next to a post office. S1:Thanks a lot. S2:You’re welcome. 2. Ask some pairs to share their conversations in front of the class. Step 5 Exercise Fill in the blanks to complete the conversation. A:Excuse me. Is there a post office near/around here? B:Yes,there is. Just go along/down Long Street and turn right at the first crossing. Go along New Street and it’s on your right. It’s next to the park and across from the supermarket. A:Thanks a lot. B:You’re welcome. Step 6 Summary In this lesson,we have learned: 1. Words:along,turn,right,left,crossing 2.
