    Period 2 (Section A 2a-3d)设计说明  本课时的重点是让学生继续深入学习如何描述他人的外貌,学会使用选择疑问句,进一步提高学生的口语交际能力,所以本课时可以运用情景教学法和交际法来完成教学任务。在进行听力和对话练习时,尽可能地设置真实的情景,让学生更好地参与语言学习。本课时的话题更贴近生活实际,运用交际法和小组合作学习的方式能让学生在真实的情景中掌握描述外貌的句型;在课堂中开展小组表演、游戏、报告等多种活动,给学生提供更多的合作与交流的机会,进行探究性学习。教学目标  1. 知识目标:  (1)掌握单词和短语:tonight,little,may,cinema,glasses,later,handsome,actor,actress,person;a little。  (2)掌握句型:—Do they have straight or curly hair?   —They have curly hair.   —Is he tall or short?   —He isn’t tall or short. He’s of medium height.   2. 能力目标:  (1)提高听取主要信息的能力。  (2)能抓住主要特征来描述人物的外貌。根据特征辨认人物。  (3)能正确使用be动词和have,has,wear,wears等实义动词描述人物的特征。  3. 情感目标:  明白不可以貌取人的道理。重点难点  1. 重点:  掌握本课时新单词、短语和选择疑问句的用法,并熟练掌握描述人物外貌的句型。  2. 难点:  熟练掌握描述人物外貌特征的句型并根据特征成功地辨认人物。教学准备  多媒体课件,2a/2b和2d的音频文件。教学过程  Step 1 Warming up & Leading in  1. Ask some students to describe themselves. When these students describe,ask the other students to listen to them carefully. Then ask one student to retell.   2. Talk freely to revise the words and expressions that we learned.   For example:  T:What does your sister look like?   S1:She has long curly hair. She is of medium height. She is very thin.   T:What does your father look like?   S2:He has short hair. He is heavy.   Step 2 Listening  1. T:I have three good friends. They’re David,Sally and Peter. Do you want to know what they look like? Please listen carefully and answer the questions in 2a.   Check the answers together.   Answers:1. He is tall.  2. She has long hair. 3. He is short.   2. Listen again. Fill in the chart.   Check the answers together. Answers:(1)tall (2)of medium height,thin (3)short (4)curly hair(5)long straight hair (6)short hair  3. Make a short report with the information in the chart after the model.   Model:David is heavy and he has curly hair.   4. Student A looks at the chart in 2b. Student B asks Student A questions about one of the people and then draws a picture of the person.   For example:  S1:What does David look like?   S2:He is tall and heavy. He has curly hair.   S1:What does Sally look like?   S2:She is...  Step 3 Role-play  1. Read the conversation in 2d. Then answer the questions.   (1)What are Mike and Tony going to do later this evening?   They are going to the movie.   (2)Why does Mike ask Tony to meet David first?   Because Mike may be a little late.   (3)Where are they meeting?   In front of the cinema.   (4)What does David look like?   David has brown hair and wears glasses. He isn’t tall or short. He’s of medium height.   2. Ask the students to read the following new words and correct the wrong pronunciations in pairs. Then translate them into Chinese.   (1)tonight /təˈnaɪt/(在)今晚  (2)little /ˈlɪtl/ 小的  (3)cinema/ˈsɪnəmə/ 电影院  (4)later/ˈleɪtə(r)/ 以后  (5)glasses/ˈɡlɑːsɪz/,/ˈɡlæsɪz/眼镜  (6)may/meɪ/ 也许;可能;可以  3. Find out the following phrases in 2d. Then translate them into English.   (1)去电影院 go to the movie  (2)迟到一小会儿 a little late  (3)在……前面 in front of  (4)留着棕色的头发 have brown hair  (5)戴眼镜 wear glasses  (6)既不高也不矮 not tall or short  (7)回头见 see you later  4. Role-play the conversation.   Step 4 Grammar Focus  1. Read the sentences in Grammar Focus.   2. Talk about the differences between“is”and“has/have”in groups.   描述人物外貌时,is后多接形容词,用于描述身高、体格等。has/have后一般接名词(短语),用于描述头发、五官等。  3. Talk about the Alternative Questions in groups.   (1)选择疑问句的基本构成:  ①一般疑问句(一种选择情况)+ or +另外一种选择情况?  ②特殊疑问句+一种选择情况+ or +另外一种选择情况?  (2)答语不用yes或no。  (3)语调:or前面部分用升调,后面部分用降调。  —Is your grandfather tall or short? 你爷爷是高还是矮?  —He is tall. 他个子高。  Step 5 Practice  1. Do exercises in 3a. Then check the answers.   Answers:is:heavy,thin,young,tall,short,of medium height  has:short hair,curly hair,straight hair,long hair  2. Circle the correct words to complete the conversation in 3b.   Answers:does;is,has;Is;isn’t;is;have;has;is  3. Write answers to the questions in 3c.   4. Describe someone in the class like the example sentence in 3d. Ask your classmates to guess who you are describing.   Step 6 Survey  Complete the chart and then write a passage to describe four of your classmates.   Here are four of my classmates. They are Li Ming,Mary,John and Xu Yang. Li Ming is tall and thin. He has short straight hair. Mary...  Step 7 Summary  In this lesson,we have learned:  1. New words and a phrase:tonight,little,may,cinema,glasses,later,handsome,actor,actress,person;a little.   2. Sentence structures:  —Do they have straight or curly hair?   —They have curly hair.   —Is he tall or short?   —He isn’t tall or short. He’s of medium height.   Step 8 Homework  Make a survey. Ask some of your classmates what their favorite teacher or actor/actress looks like.
