lk like “看起来像……”
注意: lk like和be like的区别
lk like “外观上像”
be like “品德, 相貌”
e.g. What is he like?
他是个什么样的人?
2. He’s really tall.他很高。
tall与high
high和tall都表示“高”。
1) tall身材的高度
*一般用于人和动物
*反义词: shrt
e.g. Li Ping is taller than Wei Fang. 李平比魏芳个子高。
2) high一般表示物体的高度
*反义词: lw
3) tall与high指tree, building, twer (塔)等的高度,但muntain只能用high。
e.g. Can yu see the high wall? 你能看见那堵高墙吗?
The big tree is abut ten metres high. 那棵大树约有十米高。
3. Sally is thin and f medium height. 莎莉很瘦,中等身材。
thin adj. “瘦的”
反义词: fat “胖的”
thin: “薄的” (反义词为thick “厚的”)
e.g. She lks very thin and weak.
她看上去很瘦, 而且虚弱。
There is a thin bk n the desk.
课桌上有一本很薄的书。
4. We’re meeting at seven, right? 我们七点见,对吗?
1) meet相当于汉语中“集合;见面;碰头;聚集”。如:
Let’s meet at the schl gate at eight tmrrw.
我们明天八点在校门口集合吧。
2) right表示“对吗,是吧”,用来表示对此前陈述内容进行确认和核实。全句
为Is that right? 口语中常用不完整的句子表达意见或想法。
5. …, but I may be a little late. ……,但我可能得晚点。
a little意为“有点儿”,用来修饰形容词。
e.g. It’s a little cld tnight.
今晚有点冷。
【拓展】a little意为“一些;少许”后跟不可数名词。
e.g. There’s a little meat in the bwl.
碗里有点肉。
6. Well, he has brwn hair and wears glasses. 嗯,他留着棕色的头发,戴眼镜。
glass作“玻璃”讲时,是不可数名词;作“玻璃杯”讲时, 为可数名词;而glasses则是“眼镜”之意。
e.g. Glass is brken easily.
玻璃很易碎。
There’s n water in yur glass.
你的杯子里没有水了。
Des she wear glasses? 她戴眼镜吗?
7. He isn’t tall r shrt. 他不高也不矮。
英语在受到否定概念限定的部分中一般不用and, 而用r。
e.g. I dn’t have any brthers r sisters.
我没有兄弟和姐妹。
在以上这种用法中,r相当于and nt。试比较:
Sphie never cleans r even ffers t wash the dishes.
=Sphie never cleans and des nt even ffer t wash the dishes.
索菲从不打扫房间,甚至从不主动洗碗。
