Period 5 (Section B 3a-Self Check)设计说明 这节课的重点是在复习巩固所学内容的基础上进行知识运用。首先,教师要求学生想出自己了解的歌手或作家,回答3a中的问题,进而结合3b的内容,写出一篇有关此歌手或作家情况的文章。要求学生共同总结本单元的重要短语并完成Self Check中的第一题。在老师的点拨下,学生复习一般过去时与现在完成时的区别,并完成Self Check中的第二题。学生两人合作,先以问答的形式完成Self Check中的第三题,然后填表。教学目标 1. 知识目标 (1)掌握单词:introduce,line。 (2)完成Self Check,复习现在完成时的用法及动词过去式、过去分词的变化。 2. 能力目标 能用英语描述自己喜欢的歌手或作家。 3. 情感目标 帮助学生正确对待偶像、树立正确的价值观,促进他们健康成长。重点难点 1. 重点: (1)能用英语描述自己喜欢的歌手或作家。 (2)一般过去时与现在完成时的区别。 2. 难点: 能用英语描述自己喜欢的歌手或作家。教学准备 图片,多媒体课件。教学过程 Step 1 Revision Encourage some students to retell the passage in 2b. Step 2 Practice 1. Teach the new words:introduce,line. Get one of the students in the first line to stand up and ask the class: T:Who is he/she? Ss:He/She is... T:Who can introduce him/her to us?(Write“introduce” on the blackboard.) S1:... T:Which line is he/she in?(Write“line”on the black- board.) S2:... Get the class to read the new words and then check them. Complete the words according to the Chinese meanings. (1)介绍;引见:introduce (2)行;排:line 2. Work on 3a. 3. Have students work in groups of four to discuss the questions. Then write down short answers individually. Walk around the classroom,and give language support if necessary. Answers will vary. Step 3 Writing 1. Read through the sentences in 3b. 2. Ask students to write a short article about the singer or writer.(Walk around the classroom and give language support if necessary.) 3. Ask two or three students to read their passages,and correct the mistakes. Step 4 Self Check 1. Work on Activity 1. (1)A brainstorm. Have students write down as many phrases as they can. down—die down,cut down,put down,write down,fall down,turn down,break down... of—think of,remind of,dream of... about—think about,talk about,look about,write about,bring about... back—come back,answer back,kick back... up—grow up,turn up,look up,pick up,get up,stand up... (2)Have students do Activity 1. (3)Check the answers. Answers:1. of 2. down 3. up 4. about 5. back 2. Work on Activity 2. (1)Students make a list of the things they have done and the ones they haven’t done yet this week. And then fill in the second column. (2)Ask two other students and then complete the last two columns. (3)Ask students to give a report according to the chart. They may report like this:I have already finished my science homework. And I have volunteered in the afterschool class twice this week...But I haven’t done my math homework yet... Step 5 Cooperative inquiry Discuss the following language points in groups and fill in the blanks. 1. find out意为“查明;弄清”,表示通过分析、询问、查看等得出真相,也可指找到某物。 Let’s find out what we can do to save as many animals as possible. 让我们弄清楚我们能做什么来拯救尽可能多的动物。 2. 表示穿在某人身上的衣服,通常用介词on;表示某人穿着某种衣服,通常用介词in。 The dress on you looks good. 这件连衣裙穿在你身上看起来很漂亮。 You look beautiful in the dress. 你穿这件连衣裙很漂亮。 3. not...at all意为“根本不”。 She doesn’t like milk at all. 她一点儿也不喜欢喝牛奶。 4. keep (on) doing sth. 意为“一直做某事”;keep sb. doing sth. 意为“使某人一直做某事”。 Why did he keep on jumping?他为什么在不停地跳? I’m sorry to keep you waiting. 对不起,让你久等了。 Step 6 Summary 1. In this lesson,we have learned the new words:introduce,line. 2. Master “the use of the present perfect tense” and “the past participle of the verbs”.
