    A new study published n Mnday in an American Heart Assciatin jurnal Hypertensin, examined 360,000 participants wh prvided bld, saliva (唾液)and urine samples, as well as detailed infrmatin abut their lifestyles. But that desn’t mean napping causes these health issues-instead, napping may be due t unhealthy behavirs.     Dr. Margaret Blattner, a clinical instructr, frm the department f neurlgy at Beth Israel Deacness Medical Center, tells PEOPLE that frequent r lng daytime naps can have a bad effect n healthy nighttime sleep. Napping during the day may make it harder t fall asleep at night r cause nighttime sleep t becme fragmented (支离破碎的) and missing ut n nighttime sleep can cause severe daytime sleepiness.
    “Often, naps cntinuing lng are less beneficial than mre brief daytime naps; peple ften wake up unrefreshed after a lng nap,” she adds. “Additinally, lng daytime naps take away time frm ther healthy things that peple enjy during the day: spending time with family, enjying hbbies, and exercise.” When napping during the day becmes unpredictable, uncntrllable, r stps an individual frm finishing what they need r want t d, it culd shw a pssible sleep disrder.
    Blattner believes that taking naps can als be beneficial. “Napping is nt always a cause fr cncern.
