喜马拉雅山（Himalayas）：世界最雄伟高大的山系。“喜马拉雅”，藏语意为“冰雪之乡”。分布在中国西藏自治区和巴基斯坦、印度、尼泊尔、不丹境内。呈向南凸出的弧形，为构造复杂的年轻褶皱山脉。东西长约2450千米，南北宽200-350千米。由数条大致平行的山脉组成。平均海拔6000米，8000米以上高峰有10座，中、尼边界上的珠穆朗玛峰（8848.86米）为世界第一高峰。
珠穆朗玛峰(Qmlangma)，喜马拉雅山主峰。“珠穆朗玛”藏语意为“女神第三”。在中国西藏自治区和尼泊尔结界处的喜马拉雅山中段。山体呈巨型金字塔状。海拔8848.86米，是世界第一高峰，有“世界第三极”之誉。有巨大冰川，最长达26千米。1960年5月25日中国登山队首次从北坡攀登峰顶。

the muntains, Qmlangma rises the highest and is the mst famus. It is 8,848.86 meters high and s is very dangerus t climb. Thick cluds cver the tp and snw can fall very hard. Even mre serius difficulties include freezing weather cnditins and heavy strms. It is als very hard t take in air as yu get near the tp.
