    Unit 6 Go with Transportation!Lesson31【教学内容】1.Mastery words and expressions: hometown, Britain, seldom, rapid, on foot.2.Oral words and expressions: transportation.【教学目标】1.Learn the types of the transportations.2.Find out your favorite type of the transportation【教学重点】1.How many types of transportation are there in the world?2.Talk about all kinds of transportation.【教学难点】Discuss the advantages and the disadvantages of all kinds of transportation.【教学准备】Pictures.【教学方法】Multimedia, flashcards, pictures.【教学过程】Ⅰ.Lead in the class. Let the students discuss the following questions:How do you come to school every day? Why?S1: I come to school on foot because my home is near the school.S2: I come to school by bike because I ride my bike well.S3: I come to school by bus because my home is far away from school.Ⅱ.Let the students ask questions about the transportation. Such as: what do you take if you go on a trip to Beijing? Why? Can you describe your favorite trip to the class?Ⅲ.Listen to the material and do with Exercise 2 in the activity book with the books closed.Ⅳ.Read the text and check the answers. Then read the text again and repeat after it. After a while, ask some students to read the text loudly in roles.Ⅴ.Make sentences with the phrases: what about, on foot, take a car, would like, more rapidPresent: Language Points.1.I can go almost anywhere on foot.我几乎能够步行去任何地方.On foot 意为“步行”,go to+地点=walk to +地点.例如: I can go to the park on foot. =I can walk to the park.我能步行去公园.其他交通方式的表达: By bike, by bus, by train, by plane/air, by subway, by ship, by boat, by car/in one's car….例如: He goes to school by bike.他骑自行车去上学.拓展:表达交通方式的动词词组有: Take the bus, ride a bike, take the train, take the subway, take a ship, take a plane…2.What about going to other cities? 去其他的城市呢?What about + doing/名词/代词宾格怎么样? What about =how about例如: What about going camping? 去露营怎么样?What about this one? 这个怎么样?What about you? 你呢?4.Could you go to another city on foot? 你能步行去另一个城市吗?辨析: other, the other, another, others与the others.(1)the other,表示两个人或物种的“另一个”,常与one搭配构成“one…, the other…”句型.例如: He has two brothers. One is 10years old, the other is 5years old.他有两个弟弟.一个十岁,另一个五岁.She held a ruler in one hand and an exercise-book in the other.她一只手里拿着尺子,另一只手里拿着练习册.(2)other作代词用时,复数为others,泛指“另外的人或物”.常与some搭配成some… others…句型.如:Some went to the cinema, others went swimming.一些人去看电影了,其他人去游泳了.(3)the others表示特指某范围内的“其他的人或物”.如: In our class only Tom is English, the others are Chinese.在我们班里,只有汤姆是英国人,其他的都是中国人.(4)anther可以作形容词用,修饰后面的名词,意为“另一个”,后还可以跟代词one. anther还可以作代词用,表示“另一个”.例如:Mary doesn't want to buy this skirt. Would you please show her another one? 玛丽不想买这件裙子,请你再给她拿一件别的裙子好吗?I'm still hungry after I've had this cake. Please give me another.吃完这块蛋糕后我还是感觉饿,请再给我一块吧.5.It's my favorite type of transportation.它是我最喜欢的交通方式.(1)type 名词 复数-s,种类,型号 同义词kind, sort短语a type of…一种…一种型号…a new type of car新型汽车.There are many types of an animal and plant in the zoo.在动物园里有许多种类的动植物.拓展: type还可作动词,意为“打字”例如:His secretary typed the report.他的秘书用打字机打出报告.6.I seldom travel by plane.我很少乘飞机旅行.seldom 副词 意为“很少,不常”反义词: often 同义词: Rarely.例如: She is seldom ill.她很少生病.We have seldom seen him.我们很少看见他.Ⅵ.Practice.Discuss the following question:What is the advantages and disadvantages of the transportations? Such as: cars, trains, and buses. If you go on a trip, where would you like to go? How will you go there?Let the students work in groups of three of four. After a while, present their answers to the class.Ⅶ.Come to “LET'S DO IT.”Ask the students to talk in the class. Then they can give their presentation in dialogues or in composition. Encourage them to report one by one.Ⅷ.Homework.Finish off the activity book.Go on the next reading in the student book.Summary:When the students make their presentation to the class. Remember to remind them to speak in turn. We should let all the students have the chances to speak. If someone can't go on, the others may help him.
