What were they doing then? After that, lead Ss to talk about the activities in the pictures.Then practice the tense according to the picturesTalk about the activities in the pictures and review past progressive tense.Practice the tense according to the pictures设置在微信聊天群发布消息的情境,自然导入,引导学生谈论未回复消息的同学当时在进行的活动,以此复习过去进行时。Grammar(25 minutes)小组合作探究Lead Ss to work in groups and discuss the important points.过去进行时1.含义 表示在过去某一时刻或某段时间正在进行的动作。2.结构 was/ were +Ving3.标志性词at that time = thenat this time yesterday (morning/afternoon/evening) at eight last nightfrom...to...when/while引导的时间状语从句二、过去进行时的基本句式三、Let’s practice四、辨析现在进行时和过去进行时的区别五、找出从句中连词(when or while)及与其后的动词形式。Work in groups anddiscuss the important points.1.Find out the important points about the past progressive tense.2.Summarize the structure of the past progressive tense.3.Do some exercises.4.Distinguish the differences between the present progressive tense and the past progressive tense.小组合作探究弄清本单元的重点语法——过去进行时的含义、结构、标志性词以及基本句式。再通过实战演练巩固所学知识。通过对比了解现在进行时以及过去进行时的区别。六、瞬间性动词 &延续性动词瞬间性动词:1.含义:动作可以延续一段时间,而不是瞬间结束。2.常见词:be ,have ,keep , know , learn , read, sing , watch , walk 等延续性动词:1.含义:动作极为短暂,瞬间结束。2.常见词:buy,close ,give,lose,join ,open ,go等七、when & whilewhen引导的时间状语从句:跟瞬间性或延续性动词连用,表示时间点或时间段。后接时态:一般过去时和过去进行时while引导的时间状语从句:跟延续性动词连用,表示时间段。如果主句和从句都是延续性动作,又是同时发生,此时时间状语从句多用while引导。八、Fill with “While” or “When”.Try to find out the key points.6.区分瞬间性动词和延续性动词7.Distinguish when and while.8.Finish the exercises.通过分析例句区分瞬间性动词和延续性动词的差异。总结when 和while的异同。明确使用的不同场景。通过实战练习巩固所学知识。Practice(7 minutes)Work on 4a 1.While John was taking photos, Mary bought a drink.John was taking photos when Mary bought a drink.2.While John was playing the piano, Mary left the house.
