用作状语的从句,叫做状语从句,根据它表达的意思可分为时间、原因、条件、比较、结果、目的和让步等类型。
1. s that引导的状语从句
She was s weak that she culdn' t walk n.He runs s fast that I can‘t catch him。Please pen the windw s that we can breathe fresh air.
1) s … that,“如此、以至于”,引导的结果状语从向,陈述的是客观事实。 句型: … s+ adj /adv .+that …
2) s that,“为了、以便”,引导的目的状语从句,表示动机(即一种可能 性),而非事实。因此,从句中常带有ca, will. culd, wuld, shuld等 情态动词。=in rder that …
2. until引导的时间状语从句
I stayed there until he came backI didn't leave until he came back.I wn’t play basketball until I finish my hmewrk.
注意: until 引导的从句,用于肯定句中,意为“直到……为止”,主句谓语动词须用延续性动词;用于否定句中,意为“直到……才”,主句谓语动词通常用非延续性动词,也可用是延续性动词。主句用一般现在时,从句要用一般现在时表示将来。
3. althugh引导的让步状语从句
Althugh she‘s wrng,it's nt a big deal.We enjyed ur hliday, althugh it rained a lt.Thugh he is very ld, he is quite strng.
注意:althugh引导的从句,意为“虽然、尽管、即使”,可以与 thugh互换。althugh可以放在句首,也可以放在居中,但是不能与but连用。
