Wildlife like wlves are frequently sptted by hikers alng the park’s scenic trails.
    Dry Trtugas Natinal Park
Anther island park, the Dry Trtugas can be fund 68 miles t the suthwest f the Flrida Keys. When I first began running in high schl n the track team, it made sense t carefully clck every mile and push myself t race fr persnal bests. But as I changed frm running fr sprt t running fr amusement as an adult, I fund that tracking my wrkuts ften just ended with frustratin. And it wasn’t until my watch battery died several years ag that I first experienced the sense f calm that came with running fr the pure jy f it. I never replaced the watch battery, and that might nt be a bad thing fr my fitness gals.
This is the idea f unplugged (不插电的) running, which is gaining steam in the fitness cmmunity. And recent research has shwn that getting rid f yur running watch, especially if it’s a smartwatch r fitness tracker, culd actually imprve yur wrkut — r at least yur enjyment f running.
“Peple used t have an interest in their sprt and get enjyment ut f the sprt, but nw that’s switching t the data,” said Ein Whelan, a senir lecturer at the Natinal University f Ireland Galway. “They will cmpare themselves t peple wh are better than them, wh are running faster r running lnger. And in the end we knw that makes them feel bad. ”
Whelan als nted that peple wh are very dependent n smart watches r fitness trackers are mre likely t skip their wrkuts if the batteries n their tracking devices are dead.
In additin, there is evidence that running watch-free is beneficial fr mre than just the casual jgger. Sme prfessinals als have had success with leaving their watches at hme. Welsh runner Steve Jnes famusly set a wrld recrd at the 1984 Chicag Marathn withut wearing a watch. Mre recently, Olympic marathner Trevr Hfbauer made headlines fr winning the 2019 Canadian Marathn Champinships withut a watch.
“If yu have t much infrmatin being fed t yu in real time, it can kind f get in yur head,” Hfbauer said. “Fr me, the simpler, the better.”
24.What happened t the authr when his running watch didn’t wrk?
A.He lst the desire t keep running every day.
B.He experienced running as a really fun activity.
C.He was at a lss hw t replace the watch battery.

B.The data prvided by them is unreliable.
C.The way peple use them is prper.
D.They can lead t harmful cnsequences.
26.Why des the authr mentin Trevr Hfbauer in paragraph 5?
    A.T shw the ppularity f running watch-free.
B.T encurage peple t becme prfessinal runners.
C.T prve the psitive effects f running watch-free.
    D.T present prfessinals’ views n running watch-free.
27.What is the main idea f the text?
A.It’s time t take ff yur running watch.
B.Unplugged running actually has tw sides.
C.Cmparing with thers shuld be avided.

In his 1936 wrk Hw t Win Friends and Influence Peple, Dale Carnegie wrte: “I have cme t the cnclusin that there is nly ne way t get the best f an argument — and that is t avid it.” This distaste fr arguments is cmmn, but it depends n a mistaken view f arguments that causes prblems fr ur persnal and scial lives — and in many ways misses the pint f arguing in the first place.
Carnegie wuld be right if arguments were fights, which is hw we ften think f them. Like physical fights, verbal (言语的) fights can leave bth sides bldied. Even when yu win, yu end up n better ff. Yu wuld be feeling almst as bad if arguments were even just cmpetitins — like, say, tennis turnaments. Pairs f ppnents hit the ball back and frth until ne winner cmes ut frm all wh entered. Everybdy else lses. This kind f thinking explains why s many peple try t avid arguments.
Hwever, there are ways t win an argument every time. When yu state yur psitin, frmulate (阐述) an argument fr what yu claim and hnestly ask yurself whether yur argument is any gd. When yu talk with smene wh takes a stand, ask them t give yu a reasn fr their view and spell ut their argument fully. Assess its strength and weakness. Raise bjectins (异议) and listen carefully t their replies. This methd will require effrt, but practice will make yu better at it.
These tls can help yu win every argument — nt in the unhelpful sense f beating yur ppnents but in the better sense f learning abut what divides peple, learning why they disagree with us and learning t talk and wrk tgether with them. If we readjust ur view f arguments — frm a verbal fight r tennis game t a reasned exchange thrugh which we all gain respect and understanding frm each ther — then we change the very nature f what it means t “win” an argument.
28.What is the authr’s attitude tward Carnegie’s understanding f argument?
    A.Critical.B.Supprtive.C.Tlerant.D.Uncertain.
29.Why d many peple try t avid arguments?
A.They lack debating skills.B.They may feel bad even if they win.
C.They fear being ignred.D.They are nt cnfident in themselves.
30.What des the underlined phrase “spell ut” in paragraph 3 prbably mean?
    A.Defend.B.Explain.C.Cnclude.D.Repeat.
31.What is the key t “winning” an argument accrding t the authr?
    A.Sense f lgic.B.Slid supprting evidence.
    C.Prper manners.D.Understanding frm bth sides.

Fr lts f kids, tddlerhd (幼儿期) is an imprtant time fr friendship. Studies shw that the earlier kids learn t frm psitive relatinships, the better they are at relating t thers as teenagers and adults. Playing tgether als helps these kids practice scial behavirs, such as kindness, sharing, and cperatin.
Even s, hw quickly yur child develps int a scial creature may als depend n his temperament(性格). Sme tddler s are very scial, but thers are shy. In additin, the way that tddlers demnstrate that they like ther children is markedly different frm what adults think f as expressins f friendship. Research at Ohi State University in Clumbus fund that a tddler’s way f saying “I like yu” during play is likely t cme in the frm f cpying a friend’s behavir.
This seemingly unusual way f demnstrating fndness can result in unpleasant behavir. Regardless f hw much they like a playmate, they may still grab his tys, refuse t share, and get bssy. But experts say that this is a nrmal and necessary part f friendship fr kids this age. Thrugh play experiences, tddlers learn scial rules. That’s why it’s s imprtant t take an active rle in yur tddler’s scial encunters by setting limits and ffering frequent reminders f what they are. When yu establish these guidelines, explain the reasns behind them.
Begin by helping yur child learn sympathy (“Ben is crying. What’s making him s sad?”), then suggest hw he culd reslve the prblem (“Maybe he wuld feel better if yu let him play the ball.”). When yur child shares r shws empathy(同理心) tward a friend, praise him (“Ben stpped crying! Yu made him feel better.”).
Anther way t encurage healthy scial interactin is by encuraging kids t use wrds- nt fists-t express hw they feel. It’s als imprtant t be mindful f hw yur child’s persnality affects playtime. Kids are easy t get angry when they’re sleepy r hungry, s schedule playtime when they’re refreshed.
32.What des it indicate when tddlers cpy their playmates’ behavir?
A.They are interested in acting.B.They are shy with the strangers.
C.They are fnd f their playmates.D.They are tired f playing games.
33.What des the authr suggest parents d fr their kids?
A.Design games fr them.B.Find them suitable playmates.
C.Play tgether with them.D.Help them understand scial rules.
34.What is the functin f the quted statements in paragraph 4?
    A.Giving examples.B.Explaining cncepts.
    C.Prviding evidence.D.Making cmparisns.
35.Which f the fllwing is the best title fr the text?
    A.Hw Children Adapt t ChangesB.Hw t Be a Rle Mdel fr Children
C.Hw Yur Baby Learns t LveD.Hw t Cmmunicate with Yur Kid

When peple first cme acrss the Law f Attractin (吸引力法则), their hearts and minds ften immediately think f ne specific thing that they’d lve t achieve in their lives. Hwever, the next thught is ften “But I can’t d that”. Yu may cme up with all kinds f excuses. 36 Here are the reasns why yu shuld believe yu can use the Law f Attractin t btain whatever yu want.
Small steps create big changes. One f the mst cmmn reasns fr abandning dreams is that they simply seem t huge t realize. Usually it’s manageable t think f fllwing yur dream as taking a series f significant but small steps. 37 Then lk at each f them. Nt s unrealistic nw, is it?
38 When peple are interviewed n their deathbeds r write abut their lives in autbigraphies (自传), it is ften bserved that majr regrets tend t relate t things that were nt dne. In lder age, it’s likely that yu will be uncmfrtable with the idea that yu didn’t even try t d the thing that yu lved r attempt t btain what yu truly wanted. 39 But yu dn’t ever need t feel this way! Make tday the first day f yur new jurney twards aviding regret.
Steps twards yur dream are never backwards steps. Anther cmmn wrry is that if yu fllw yur dreams, yu’ll be “taking steps back”. 40 Hwever, what lks like backward steps in yur ld life can mre prductively and accurately be seen as frwarding steps in the brand new life yu’re creating.
    A.Yu can avid regret.
B.It makes sense t mve frward cnfidently.
C.Luckily, the truth is that it’s never t late t fllw yur dream.
D.It ften cmes up when peple are at the tp f careers they hate.
E.It is painful t feel like yu haven’t ever fund yur true purpse.
F.Fr example, challenge yurself t write dwn the path t success in ten stages.
G.Yu have enugh life experience and knwledge t make changes t pursue yur dream.

It’s hard t put int wrds hw much f a sense f freedm I get frm being utdrs and in the wilderness. If I’m 41 by buildings fr t lng, I get a bit anxius. I need t see a field, a river r a muntain 42 in frnt f me.
Spending time utdrs is a wnderful 43 , I like nthing mre than getting t the end f a day spent utdrs and 44 the ache in my legs frm a lng walk. It helps me sleep and is far mre 45 than training in a gym.
There are s many 46 walks t chse frm all ver the UK. We live n a tiny island, relatively speaking, but the scenery we have here easily 47 sme f the mst beautiful in the wrld. We are extremely 48 : n ur drstep we have beaches, rivers, hills and muntains.
Thanks t the light and the weather, the same walk can feel very different 49 the time f year yu d it. But fr breathtaking views whatever the 50 is, I’d recmmend Cw and Calf Rcks n Ilk-ley Mr in West Yrkshire. It’s quite a challenge climbing them, which is why ding s feels mre daring than a nrmal walk and ffers 51 that yu dn’t get frm fllwing a gentle path. It’s perfect if yu want a wrkut as well as fresh air and gives yu the chance t get up high and 52 a view that changes all year rund.
Otley Chevin in West Yrkshire is anther 53 climb that ffers beautiful views. And like Cw and Calf Rcks, it is within easy 54 f the nearby twn. But being Cambrian, my heart will always belng t the Lake District. I grew up walking thse fells in all weathers and seasns, and I think there is nthing mre 55 than a big hill walk that gets yur lungs burning and brings yu t a view yu’ve never seen befre.

“Have yu decided n yur majr?” my parents inquired.
“Biengineering, f curse.” I respnded withut the slightest hesitatin.
I entered this wrld with Pland syndrme, a disease that prevented the frmatin f my right arm and pectral muscle(s 胸肌). My parents, believing that playing with Leg culd enhance my dexterity(灵巧), gifted me my first kit when I was five. Struggling t piece the cmpnents tgether, I crafted my first Leg wrk – a car. As I gt lder, I grew bsessed with Leg Technic, a mre advanced range, and hw t use it t build mre delicate structures. By the age f nine, I had fashined my first prsthetic arm(义肢)using Leg Technic – a simple bx that perfectly accmmdated my right arm.
This early creatin sparked my drive fr further explratin. Years later, I develped anther prsthetic arm that I called the MK-1, which had fingers, a mtr, a pressure sensr, a mvable elbw jint, and a grabber capable f picking things up.
Befre cnstructing it, I had already decided against traditinal prsthetics. Nt because they were ineffective, but because playing with Leg did significantly imprve my dexterity, helping me adapt t my cnditin. Hwever, a mre frustrating reasn was that prsthetics were t expensive. My parents and I had lked int getting ne a few years earlier, nly t be discuraged by the prhibitive price. S, I cncluded that I might nt need ne because I was managing well withut. Nevertheless, the jy f creating prsthetics with Leg remained, and I cntinued making them purely fr the fun f it.
As the years passed, my creatins evlved frm MK-1 t the mre advanced and cmfrtable MK-V. It featured a cntrl unit that culd send and receive rders frm sensrs n the arm t the mtrs, with cables that cntract like muscles.
One day, a cuple with their eight-year-ld sn, wh lst bth arms in an accident, reached ut t me after learning abut my creatins. Shrt f mney, they culdn’t affrd well-functining prsthetics. “Daniel,” the father earnestly asked, “we were wndering if yu culd pssibly help build a set f prsthetics fr ur sn.”
