    1.答案:A
根据When can I submit?部分中“Phase One, Mid-Autumn Festival: Frm June 20 t 2:00 pm f Aug. 25. 故选A项。
What we’re lking fr?部分“We accept sft pen calligraphy wrks. Writing styles are nt limited.
根据倒数第二段“Participants can sht vide t shw the intentin r meaning f texts, and share stries f his r her painting and calligraphy wrks. Yur submissin will nly be valid if it’s submitted with yur calligraphy r painting wrks.(参与者可以拍摄视频,展示文字的意图或意义,并分享自己的书画作品故事。
根据第一段“Fr my 56th birthday, my daughter, Beth, bught me tw beautifully carved wden butterflies.(在我56岁生日的时候,我的女儿贝丝给我买了两只雕刻精美的木制蝴蝶。)”
    5.答案:A
根据第二段中“After a lng battle against cancer, my mm passed away when I was nly 25 years ld.(在与癌症进行了长期的斗争后,我的母亲去世了,当时我只有25岁。)”和“Well, smetimes I cmfrted her and this time I tld her hw much her grandma lved her and that Grandma still remained psitive in the last weeks f her life.(嗯,有时候我安慰她,这次我告诉她,她的祖母是多么爱她,祖母在她生命的最后几个星期里仍然保持乐观)”可知,作者的母亲与癌症进行了长期的斗争,并在最后的日子里仍然保持着乐观的态度,由此推知,作者的母亲是坚强乐观的人。故选A项。
根据第二段中“At that very mment, a butterfly appeared flying arund Beth’s face and then flew away. We bth laughed with ur hearts full f lve and jy.(就在这时,一只蝴蝶出现在贝丝的脸上,然后飞走了。
通读全文,结合最一段中“Since that mment all f thse years ag, bth Beth and I seem t attract butterflies like flwers. Whenever we are utside, they seem t fly dwn, circle arund us, take a gd lk, and then fly away. And every time, we are reminded f my mm’s lve watching ver us.(自从多年前的那一刻起,贝丝和我就像花一样吸引着蝴蝶。
根据第二段最后一句“Sme 1, 009 participants reprted using brain training prgrams fr abut eight mnths, n average, thugh the length f time ranged frm tw weeks t mre than five years.(大约1009名参与者报告说,他们使用大脑训练项目的时间平均约为8个月,尽管时间长度从两周到五年多不等)”可知,1009个测试参与者与别人的不同之处在于他们有接受大脑训练的经历。故选D。
    9.答案:A
根据第三段最后一句“Even amng thse wh had used training prgrams fr at least 18 mnths, brain training didn’t bst thinking abilities abve the level f peple wh didn’t use the prgrams.(即使在那些使用训练项目至少18个月的人当中,大脑训练对思维能力的提升也没有超过没有使用训练项目的人)”可知,大脑训练对思维能力的提升没有作用,由此可推知,画线词所在句意为“当研究人员查看结果时,他们发现接受大脑训练的人在记忆力、语言技能和推理方面平均没有比另一组人的智力优势”,edge意为“优势”。故选A。
根据最后一段中“Hwever, brain training may be beneficial when it is cnnected with real prblems in life, researchers say. The real wrld may be the best brain trainer. 11.
根据全文内容,结合第一段 “It’s an attractive idea: by playing nline prblem-slving, matching and ther games fr a few minutes a day, peple can imprve such mental abilities as reasning, verbal(语言的) skills and memry. But whether these games deliver n thse prmises is up fr debate.(这是一个很有吸引力的想法:通过每天玩几分钟在线解题、配对和其他游戏,人们可以提高推理、语言能力和记忆力等心理能力。
    12.答案:C
