A team in Nrway recently cnducted in-depth research n writing by hand and typing n a keybard.
The team invited 36 university students wh had t either write r type wrds displayed n a screen. The study participants used a digital pen t write in cursive(草书)n a tuchscreen, and they used ne finger n a keybard t type. The researchers used a special cap with 256 sensrs. This cap was wrn by the students, and their brain activity was recrded fr five secnds each time they were asked t write r type.
“We shw that when writing by hand, brain cnnectivity patterns are far mre cmplex than when typewriting n a keybard,” says Prfessr Audrey van der Meer, the team leader. “Such widespread brain cnnectivity is knwn t be imprtant fr memry frmatin and fr encding(编码)new infrmatin and, therefre, is beneficial fr learning.” The researchers als nte that even thugh the participants used digital pens fr writing in the study, they believe the findings wuld be similar if the participants used an ink pen and paper.
“We’ve shwn that the differences in brain activity are related t the careful frming f the letters when writing by hand while making mre use f the senses. Since it’s the mvement f the fingers carried ut when frming letters that prmtes brain cnnectivity, writing in print als has similar benefits fr learning as cursive writing,” Audrey adds. “This als explains why children wh have learned t write and read n a tablet can have difficulty differentiating between letters that are mirrr images f each ther, such as ‘b’ and ‘d’. They haven’t felt with their bdies what it feels like t prduce thse letters.”

30. What plays the key rle in strengthening brain cnnectivity?

B. Learning t practice cursive writing.
C. Frming the habit f taking ntes.
D. Writing letters carefully by hand.
31. What des the underlined wrd “pragmatic” in the last paragraph mean?

Researchers in Washingtn fund that prpaganda(宣传)written by artificial intelligence(AI)can be just as cnvincing t the average American as real prpaganda created by human prpagandists.

On average, agreement with the AI-written articles was nly arund fur percentage pints lwer than agreement with human-written prpaganda. “This suggests that prpagandists culd use GPT-3 t generate persuasive articles with minimum human effrt, by using existing articles n unrelated tpics t guide GPT-3 abut the style and length f new articles,” the study authrs write in the jurnal PNAS Nexus.
By feeding GPT-3 just a few examples f prpaganda, it was able t prduce new articles in a similar style. The researchers fund that with just a little bit f human input, the AI’s prpaganda culd actually becme mre cnvincing than what humans are able t alne.
By autmating prpaganda creatin, Al enables bad actrs t fld nline platfrms with misleading cntent. The study authrs recmmend that while AI prpaganda represents a serius threat, we shuld fcus n better detectin methds t cunter disinfrmatin campaigns as sn as pssible. Fr example, peple shuld identify false accunts and frnt grups spreading AI-generated cntent.
“If generative AI tls can expand prpaganda generatin, research that imprves the detectin f infrastructure(基础设施)needed t deliver cntent t a target(such as inauthentic scial media accunts)will becme mre imprtant,” the researchers cnclude.
32. Hw did the researchers carry ut their study?
A. By presenting cncrete data.
B. By making cmparisns.
C. By analyzing causes and effects.
D. By prving what the experts say.
33. What d the researchers suggest ding t deal with AI prpaganda?
A. Creating mre authentic media accunts.
B. Making minimum effrt fr maximum effect.
C. Researching n identifying disinfrmatin.
D. Studying its side effects n real prpaganda.
34. What is the authr’s attitude t AI prpaganda?
A. Dismissive. B. Dubtful.
C. Objective. D. Favrable.
35. What is the suitable title fr the text?
A. AI creates persuasive prpaganda
B. AI is replacing human prpaganda
C. AI may make prpaganda in a mess
