    49. Peple lacking sleep are encuraged t ______.
    A. sleep fr as lng as they want during the dayB. watch ne episde f their favrite TV series
    C. prevent yurself frm energy intake each nightD. cnsume fd rich in fiber and water
    D
There was much discussin f the cncept f “quiet quitting” meaning, ding the bare minimum at wrk. And perhaps that’s nt surprising: nwadays emplyee’s stress levels are at all-time highs. When yu’re exhausted and verwhelmed, it feels like smething needs t give up—the pursuit f excellence at wrk.
But is taking yur ft ff the gas the answer? I’d argue it isn’t. As a writer fcused n time management, I’ve cme t realize that the ppsite f burnut isn’t ding nthing but engagement. That’s what I fund when I ran a study with mre than 140 busy peple. At the beginning, they spke f feeling exhausted and tapped ut. “My wrk t d list is never ending,”. ne persn said.
The participants applied time-management strategies ver the curse f nine weeks. But instead f asking them t scale things back, mst f the strategies I taught peple were additive. I had them build in regular physical activity, make ce fr little adventures. And when it came t leisure activities, I asked them t put “effrtful befre effrtless”—t chse thse that require actin ver thse that are passive.
I als intrduced them t the principle f taking “ne night fr yu”—cmmitting t ding smething yu enjy, apart frm wrk and family. As with quiet quitting, this might smetimes mean leaving wrk a little earlier than usual, but the pint is nt t d less; the idea is adding energizing activities t yur schedule.
And it wrked. Over weeks, participants came t feel that their schedules were brimming (充满) with activities that they had actively chsen—and as a result, time felt mre abundant. Their satisfactin with hw they spent their time verall rse 16 percent frm the beginning t the end. They even reprted making mre prgress n their prfessinal gals —pretty much the ppsite f quiet quitting—as their increased energy and engagement spilled ver int all areas f life.
We each have the same hurs every week. But time is als all abut the stries we tell urselves. When life is full f have-t-ds, we can feel beaten dwn by respnsibilities. But add things we actually want t d, and time feels different. We feel a bit mre in cntrl f ur lives. Put simply, when we put time int what we find energizing, ur inner narrative changes. We n lnger feel like life is a slg (苦役), when yu’re feeling verwhelmed, cmmitting time t smething that feels wnderful culd be a better bet than simply ding less.
    50. Accrding t Paragraph 1, quiet quitting makes ne ______.
