The Catnapper Mystery
Cdy, the catnapper, had a talent fr taking cats frm trees, yards, and prches. He’d keep them until their wners paid fr their return. One day, Milly’s kitten Musie was missing. Milly accused Cdy. “N way!” said Detective Denny. “I saw Cdy catch a train t Planters Plain this mrning. Musie can’t have been kidnapped by Cdy!”
“There are n paw prints n my lawn,” nted Milly. “Musie didn’t just run ff!”
“And there are n sneaker prints,” said Detective Denny. “Cdy nly wears sneakers.” Then he nticed tiny hles in the grass that lked like they were made by high-heeled shes. Denny pulled ut a pencil. He was very careful as he measured the hles. “Half a pencil deep! Only Patty Perry’s Pet Shp wears heels that high and thin.”
Milly and Detective Denny ran t Patty’s, where a man was lading pets int a van. “Where are these animals ging?” asked Milly.

The Peaceful Pen Pals Prject is a beautiful prject that blends tgether glbal cnnectin and self-expressin. The prject is part f the nnprfit Kids fr Peace, funded by Jill McManigal and Danielle Gram in Califrnia in 2006. It is pen t all children, ages tw thrugh seventeen. T date, there are 1,500 children frm 17 cuntries participating in the prgram accrding t the rganizatin. Currently, all letters are written in English. When children sign up, they can select if they wuld rather be matched with a USA Peaceful Pen Pal r an internatinal ne.
Each child is then matched t a pen pal f similar age. This establishes a pint f cnnectin quickly fr the children and facilitates (促进) a strnger bnd. If the letter writers are in the same grade, they can chat abut schl, their teachers, and what they are studying. They can als cmpare what different states r cuntries learn abut and hw the atmsphere f the classrm are, whether scially r academically. Brn in Berlin in 1928, Heinz Wlff was the sn f Jewish parents. His mther died in 1938, and the next year the family fled.
